We would like to recognize two of our players today who SHOULD be playing in the best of the best tournament this weekend in Duanesburg.
Ty Brownell and Tanner Putnam from our Majors baseball team. These two both hit over .600 this year, and were the two best pitchers on our team. Between the HR’s, the no hitters that were thrown, and their tough gritty style of play, these two were surely a spectacle to be watched! They aren’t just great ball players, but they are true leaders on our team, helping younger players, picking up a teammate when they are down, and carrying the weight of being looked up to all season long. Both of you are going to go far, not just on a ballfield but in life, and we can’t wait to see what you two accomplish going forward.
We as a league weren’t able to participate in the district 12 aaa all star tournament because we didn’t have the numbers to field a team, but yet we were asked by District 12 Little League, specifically Dave Jelenic, for two players to compete in the district 12 best of the best tournament. Tanner and Ty were chosen by their teammates to represent fort plain this year, but now with the tournament just 2 days away, district just informed us that these fine young men aren’t allowed to participate, even though district asked for all of their information, and the players and families were notified that they were selected. These boys worked their tails off for 8 years to get the chance to play in a tournament like this, and were ecstatic that they were going, only for that to be ripped away by the leadership of district 12 little league. Shame on them….
Thanks for nothing district 12 little league, you are missing out on two fine ballplayers this weekend who absolutely deserved to be there….
We love everything you two boys have accomplished, and how much you two have contributed to our league, and even if district 12 won’t recognize you, we at FPLL will!
