OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Committee of St. Lucie County
On behalf of our Chairperson, Mr. Larryton McNealy Jr., the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Committee of St. Lucie County is honored to officially announce the 2027 Commemorative Year Theme:
“One Community, One Dream.”
This theme serves as a powerful reminder that our greatest strength lies in our unity. As we continue the work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are called to come together across neighborhoods, generations, backgrounds, and experiences to build a stronger, more compassionate, and more equitable community for all.
“One Community, One Dream” challenges each of us to embrace collaboration, celebrate our diversity, and work collectively toward a shared vision of opportunity, justice, service, and hope. Dr. King’s dream was never meant to belong to one person or one generation—it belongs to all of us, and it continues through our actions.
Throughout the 2027 commemorative year, we invite residents, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and community partners across St. Lucie County to join us in meaningful programs, events, and acts of service that reflect this year’s theme and honor Dr. King’s enduring legacy.
As Dr. King so profoundly stated:
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
Together, let us answer that question by standing united as One Community, One Dream.
We look forward to celebrating, serving, and inspiring our community throughout the 2027 commemorative year.
