Established in 1988, Main Street Fort Pierce, Inc. (a not-for-profit corporation) is a local, public-private partnership funded by memberships, fund-raising projects and city government. On Saturday, the Main Street Fort Pierce Board of Directors stepped away from their annual strategic planning meeting at the historic Platts/Backus House to take in something just as important happening right outside.

Thanks to the generosity of .a.f_tree_service and Silvestre Aguilar, who is donating his time and talent, and other local craftsmen doing the same, the property is getting some much-needed care—from tree trimming to thoughtful improvements that are already making a visible difference.

This effort is part of a larger, ongoing volunteer- and donation-driven project focused on preserving one of Fort Pierce’s most treasured historic landmarks.

It’s a reminder that revitalization doesn’t just happen in meetings—it happens in the hands of people who care enough to show up and do the work.

We’re grateful for those who continue to invest in the places that make our community what it is.
