✨ Thank You for a Wonderful Open House! ✨

Fort Payne Head Start would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our families, staff, and community partners who joined us for Open House! Seeing so many smiling faces and excited families made the evening truly special as we kicked off a new school year together.

We are incredibly grateful to our amazing staff for their hard work and dedication in preparing for our students' return, and to our parents for taking the time to attend, connect with teachers, and partner with us in their child's education.

💇‍♀️🌟 An extra special THANK YOU to Ms. Kayla with Mobile Hair Haven, who generously provided haircuts for our students during Open House! Your kindness, talent, and willingness to serve our Head Start families helped make the day even more meaningful. We are so thankful for your support and for helping our children start the school year feeling confident and ready to learn!

We are excited to share that Marked for Life Ministry has generously donated fresh eggs for our enrolled families!

If your child is enrolled for the 2026–2027 school year, you may stop by the school to pick up eggs:

📅 Monday–Friday
⏰ 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM

🥚 Important Information About the Eggs: These eggs are unwashed, which is common for fresh farm eggs. Unwashed eggs still have their natural protective coating (called the "bloom"), which helps keep them safe and fresh. However, please wash eggs just before using them and refrigerate them after pickup.

We are incredibly grateful to Marked for Life Ministry for their kindness and generosity in supporting our families and community. ❤️

Residents who need assistance with summer cooling costs may qualify for help through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by phone or online.

Online Scheduling: https://www.caaneal.org/appointments

When calling, please select the option for Utility Assistance. Do not select Weatherization, as these are separate programs and Weatherization appointments cannot be used for utility assistance requests.

This program serves eligible residents in Blount, Cherokee, DeKalb, Jackson, Marshall, and St. Clair counties.

Documents Required for Your Appointment:

• Original Social Security cards for all household members
• Current Alabama photo ID for the head of household and spouse
• Proof of gross income for the previous month for all household members (pay stubs, Social Security, pensions, etc.)
• Lease agreement or voucher if residing in Public Housing or Section 8 Housing
• A copy of your most recent electric bill for your primary cooling source
