On Saturday, May 23, 2026, members of DeKalb County VFW Post 3128 and The Dekalb County VFW Post 3128 Auxiliary placed American flags at veterans’ graves in Glenwood Cemetery and other cemeteries throughout DeKalb County in observance of Memorial Day. The annual tradition honors the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces that are no longer with us.

We would like to thank everyone that came out to help us place the flags and honor our fallen.

We’re proud to recognize AEMT Robert Edgar for receiving an award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), an organization known for supporting veterans and local communities.

Robert shows up every day with professionalism, compassion, and a strong commitment to helping others. The care he provides makes a real difference, and we’re glad to see him recognized for it.

This award speaks not only to Robert’s hard work, but also to the important role EMS providers play in our community.

Please join us in congratulating Robert on this well-deserved honor! 👏

We also want to express gratitude to the VFW for their continued support and consistency in recognizing those who serve.

Our theme is Happy Birthday America 250th. To participate, please contact Doris at 256-440-9879 (cell) or 256-845-9745 (office), or via email at [email protected]. We are commencing preparations early with Scarecrow registration for the fair. Here are the details: Scarecrows must be moveable, free-standing, and at least 3 ft. high or wide, as they will be part of the fair festivities and may have other decorations displayed around them. The fair organizers reserve the right to display entries at their discretion, so some will be displayed inside the building, while others will be displayed outside. Please ensure that your Scarecrow is suitable for outdoor display. Additionally, please refrain from using materials that may deteriorate in the outdoors.
