Enter ye in at the strait gate, for strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life. Jesus never made the statement that following him would be easy actually he stated “you shall have tribulation” in this life” it didn’t end there though, he added “but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” Those he called he told to deny self and take up the cross. Today Christianity is preached and presented as a prosperity lifestyle… prosper in this prosper in that removing or excluding all trials and suffering with only a “BROADway” Christianity making it about what comforts and pleases us only. But Jesus said enter in at the STRAIT GATE. It’s through the strait gate you find your blessings from God! Join us tonight at Adamsburg Community Church 6:30cst for our service in the sanctuary with the youth!

Our subject that we will begin to look into this evening is many times overlooked, taken lightly or we rarely do it. “PRAYER” is and should be a part of the believers life daily. As a Christian we must discipline ourselves to seek God daily. Prayer has been given and it’s the “Link” between us and God. We have this mentality that prayer is only for a petition for ourselves or the sick (only when we need something) but it’s so much more than that! Prayer is that moment we set aside to not only ask for what we may need for Jesus said to seek ask and knock but he said to FIRST “Seek ye the kingdom of God” then All things shall be added unto thee. We should first seek him in oneness and come to him desiring communion with him to seek his face his will and his presence. For it is prayer that will bring you into the presence of God! In the wilderness wanderings the tabernacle was set up and within stood the ark “Gods presence” and get this the closest item or furniture within the tent outside the veil nearest to the Ark was the incense Altar! This Altar represented and typified “prayer” Aaron once a year went into the holliest of hollies and with incense and Blood he entered before the ark(Gods presence) in Revelation it is written the angels had bowls of incense which was the prayers of the Saints. Prayer is the key to enter into Gods presence it is the only way to truly connect with God! It was prayer that delivered Daniel from the lions in the den. It was through prayer David was forgiven for his great sin. It was through prayer that our Lord was strengthened in Gethsemane! Prayer is key for all that we will ever need and it’s only accessible through Gods Son Jesus Christ! Let’s seek to pray more and more each day!

Going into 2022 young and old new or seasoned know that his GRACE is sufficient for thee. Last night in bed my son quietly asked me “dad if you do something real bad does Jesus still forgive you for it?” My response was yes son no matter how bad we’ve been or what we have done Jesus will forgive you if you ask from your heart. He simply responded and said ok dad. As I reminded my son of Gods grace I remind you going into 2022 yes we need to grow, yes he desires a holy lifestyle but can I also say that we ALL are a work that will continue until the day of the Lord. Yes we will mess up or fall occasionally but don’t let the lie of the enemy destroy you because yes there are times we are “weak” but that’s when his Grace begins to work within our life! Get up when you fall, repent when you fail, he will pick you up and he will forgive! Paul said I sought three times to have this “thorn” in my flesh removed but God said “MY GRACE is SUFFICIENT for thee for when I(Paul) am weak he(God) is strong!” So don’t give up or give in but lean on God and his grace for he will bring you through whatever may come your way in 2022! God bless!

Continuing in the book of Genesis we will continue to look At Abraham and Gods faithfulness! Paul wrote in Romans that Abraham hoped against hope though through his own eyes he was of old age past the age of childbearing he staggered not at the promises of God nor did he waver but was strong in FAITH! He believed that he who promised would perform it! Though we may jump the gun so to speak or go ahead of God and even mess things up doesn’t mean your were faithless but impatient moving on emotion. Abraham and Sarai got in the way years before and made “Ishmael” and yes that wasn’t Gods plan but it didn’t revoke Gods promises or stop what God said he would do for Abraham!!! God is faithful to his promises even when we fail and try to make a “God thing” happen. God would fulfill his promises and give Abraham and Sarai an Isaac! Phil 1:6 He that has begun a good work in you shall continue until the day of Jesus Christ! Our mistakes will not stop the work of God if we continue in the FAITH!

The mind is the enemies playground and we see today how the modern day culture has greatly impacted the younger generations minds in a negative way and through whatever means works the enemy will use. It’s time we wake up the younger generation and teach them to “protect” their mind... it’s time as leaders we stand up for the youth and begin to lead them in the ways of God and take back what belongs to God! Let’s give them what will truly create change... GODS WORD!!! Hope to see all tonight for our service in the sanctuary with worship and the WORD!

“Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld the plain of Jordan” As we continue our journey through Genesis we’ve reached the event of Lots departure.

As you look into the story of Abrams and Lots separation it’s a great illustration of the first stages of a Christian backsliding or “separating” from God. The methods the enemy uses has never changed “deception” from the Garden of Eden to David and Bathsheba the enemy will always paint a pretty picture in the distance but beneath is sin. With every ungodly thing being forced upon the younger generation from the media, television,Hollywood etc.. We must let them know it’s all “deception” and not as it seems. We must be a light a voice a leader to the younger generation and be the watchmen on the walls! It’s up to us to teach guide and lead! Remember Deception is the devils tool!

As I was painting some trim today every piece was very long 7ft or longer I had no issues with any of those but the last piece was different it was small about two feet long and it was a struggle to paint it. With each stroke it moved with the brush hindering me from accomplishing my task to bring it to life but once it was anchored and “still” it went on with ease. Without the cross we are much like that small piece of trim, moving and kicking against everything God has tried to do within our life but once we came to the place called Calvary and became anchored there by faith and trusted Jesus’ sacrifice God then was able to do what he purposed to do within our lives through the cross of his son Jesus Christ. Nothing will ever keep us “still” allowing God to work within us (sanctify us) except for his sons fihsinshed work at Calvary! God desires we be still so he can work! Head to Calvary and allow it to anchor your whole being and become “still” so God can begin to make you new again!

“Abram journeyed down into Egypt”
As we see, scripture still Identified The father of faith as “Abram” not “Abraham” This is a great picture of us as believers and how we all have not reached the fullness of who God has called us to be (Phil1:6)but is continually making and breaking us daily to bring us into the fullness of our “Identity.”

Abram had already been called and received assurance that he and his children would inherit the land but still we see he left and departed into Egypt. So easily our “flesh” can change our direction and create a distraction in our walk with God... Thorugh the flesh worry, hurt, regret, rejection and disappointment will rise up and distract us from who we are in Christ blurring our vision leaving only Egypt in sight... Remember today no matter what your going through and have been through, don’t allow the enemy to blur your vision with your past wounds, disappointments and failures against you. No matter the doubt and worry in this moment know wherever you may feel your at presently, maybe your seeing nothing but Egypt in sight know today God is with you! His eye is upon the sparrow!!! Hang on and abide where God has called you to be and he will continue to bring you into the fullness of who he already sees you to be!
