Meet Viola 💜

Viola's story began when she came running toward us at a local park, meowing for help. Based on her condition, we believe she had likely been abandoned. She was painfully thin, covered in fly-bite dermatitis on her ears, and clearly pregnant.

There was no way we could leave her behind.

As soon as we opened the hatchback of our car, Viola spotted a bag of dry food we keep for the feral colony we care for. She immediately jumped in and began eating as fast as she could. It was heartbreaking to see just how hungry she was. This sweet girl was absolutely starving.

Once safely home, we scanned her for a microchip, but none was found. The very next day, she was seen by our veterinarian, where she received the care she desperately needed. She was spayed, fully vetted, and finally given the chance to start a new chapter.

Today, Viola is healthy, healed, and thriving in foster care. She has left her days of uncertainty behind and is discovering what it means to be loved.

Viola is a sweet, affectionate girl who adores treats, cuddling, and spending time with her people. She does well with gentle children and gets along wonderfully with other cats. Her resilient spirit and loving personality make her an incredible companion.

After everything she's been through, Viola deserves a family that will cherish her forever.

Could that family be yours? 🐾💕

It is with absolutely broken hearts that we share that our sweet, tiny Cypress did not make it.

Despite the tireless efforts of our veterinarians and dedicated medical foster team, her little body just couldn't keep fighting. Cypress received every chance we could give her—she was on antibiotics, kept warm and comfortable in an incubator, tube fed, and surrounded by love every step of the way. While her time with us was far too short, she knew warmth, safety, and care.

Though she is gone, she will never be forgotten.

Every kitten who is born into suffering serves as a reminder of why we do this work. The kittens from this colony have faced heartbreaking challenges, many of them the result of generations of inbreeding and uncontrolled breeding. We have seen kittens rejected by their mothers, kittens born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia—a neurological condition that affects coordination, balance, and motor skills due to abnormal development of the cerebellum. We have also seen Neonatal Isoerythrolysis, a life-threatening condition in which a mother's antibodies attack her newborn kittens' red blood cells when there is a blood type incompatibility, often leading to severe anemia, weakness, and death if not caught and treated immediately.

In addition to these devastating conditions, we have encountered severe flea anemia, overwhelming parasite infestations, congenital defects, and other serious medical issues. Several kittens have lost their lives because of these preventable circumstances.

This is why we strongly advocate for spaying and neutering. Every litter born into an already struggling colony increases the risk of disease, genetic disorders, suffering, and death. While we will always fight for every kitten that is born earthside, prevention remains one of the most powerful tools we have to reduce suffering and improve the lives of cats in our communities. This is why we will always choose to spay EVERY cat, regardless of pregnancy status.

Rest peacefully, sweet Cypress. You were beautiful, you were loved, and you mattered. Your life, no matter how brief, will continue to inspire us to keep fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.

🌺Jumba & Pleakley are still Waiting!👽

The last 2 of our Lelo & Stitch crew still haven't found their forever homes 😢

These boys are incredibly sweet, playful, and silly.
⭐️Fun facts about these guys:

🐕They LOVE dogs!
😻Coexist well with other cats!
🚿Love to play in water!

They are fully vetted and ready to find a loving home, whether that be together or separate. They do love each others company but are nit truly bonded. They must go to a home with other friendly pets though. They would be very bored and lonely without a friend 🧡

💫ADOPT CASSIOPEIA 🌠

"Cassie" for short, is a very affectionate kitty. She had a rough few years surviving on the streets after being abandoned by a past owner, but is now learning to trust and love again 💓

Cassie is what we call a "tortico", a mixture of a tortoiseshell and calico. Her coat is very unique and soft!

Cassie loves treats and gives strong head boops 🫂

Kittens secured! 🐾 We couldn't have done this without the amazing people who stepped up to foster. Thank you for helping us give these babies a chance ❤️

While this is absolutely a win for these sweet kittens, it's also a stark reminder of why spaying and neutering your cats — and the cats in your community — is so important.

Between our Bobtail Colony project last summer (43 cats TNR'd or rescued) and our ongoing Cosmic Colony project (32 cats TNR'd or rescued), there is a small pocket of unfixed cats that remains. We currently know of 2 females and 3 males, and we plan to trap them all and get them fixed as soon as possible. One of these females is the mother of these five kittens.

We're also a little annoyed because the father is an orange tabby Manx/bobtail, which means we somehow missed a tomcat during our Bobtail Colony project last summer. 😑🤦

All but one of these kittens are Manx, meaning they have either no tail or only a stub. They were absolutely riddled with parasites and fleas, causing diarrhea and anemia. Their poor little bottoms were caked with f***s and painfully raw. Every kitten has now had at least one or two baths and is already showing signs of healing ✨ Even better, all but one now have mostly formed stools. Yay for healthy p**p! 💩

Two of the kittens are also being treated for eye infections 💊

When female cats are allowed to continue giving birth during this overpopulation crisis, the kittens often suffer. We see it over and over again, and it takes a significant emotional toll on rescuers. It isn't fair to the kittens, and it isn't fair to the people working tirelessly to save them. Please spay and neuter your pets and community cats.

We are currently OVER CAPACITY with 63 cats and kittens in care 😿 while adoptions remain at record lows. Sadly, there are simply too many unwanted kittens being born, overwhelming shelters and rescues and leaving fewer resources available for every animal in need.

With all that being said, we'd like to introduce the Mulan Crew 🌸:

• Mulan — Solid white medium-haired female with one blue eye and one gray-green eye. The only kitten in the litter with a full tail 🐱🤺

• Shang — Black and white long-haired male Manx 🖤🤍

• Cri-Kee — Calico long-haired female Manx 🎨

• Mushu — Solid white long-haired male Manx with blue eyes 🤍💙

• Mei — Solid white long-haired female Manx with blue eyes 🤍💙

Welcome to the Rad Cat family, little ones 🐾❤️

Cypress Update

After a very long and grueling night at the emergency vet, it was determined that baby Cypress has pneumonia. 💔

She is fighting hard, but she is still struggling. Cypress is now on antibiotics, being syringe-fed, and receiving nebulizer treatments as we do everything possible to help her recover.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated toward her care so far. Your support has made it possible for us to get her the emergency treatment she desperately needed.

Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts and send all the healing energy, prayers, and positive vibes her way. She needs all the strength she can get right now, and we are rooting for her every step of the way.

We are still facing significant veterinary expenses as Cypress continues her treatment and recovery. For anyone who would like to help, our donation link can be found in the bio at the top of our page. Every donation, share, and kind word means the world to us and helps us continue fighting for kittens like Cypress.

We'll continue to keep everyone updated on her progress. ❤️

Big THANK YOU to Hairy Styles St. Elmo ! Our original Rad Cat, Callie, looks and feels so fresh 💇‍♀️💖

Callie is one of our sanctuary kitties who is special needs. She has a periodontal disease called Stomatitis that causes grooming to be difficult for her. We are so thankful for the folks at Hairy Styles that help her out from time to time 💓

If you have a kitty that could use a bath or haircut definitely check them out! 🐈✂️🧼

🚨 URGENT DONATION PLEA FOR CYPRESS 🚨

Tonight, our sweet baby Cypress suddenly went into respiratory distress and had to be rushed to the emergency vet. She is currently receiving oxygen and being closely monitored while the veterinary team works to determine what is causing her condition.

As many of you know, emergency veterinary care comes with a very high cost, and with 62 cats and kittens currently in our care, unexpected emergencies like this put a tremendous strain on our rescue's finances. But when one of our cats needs help, we don't hesitate—we get them the care they need.

Right now, we are asking our amazing community to rally around Cypress. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward her emergency veterinary care and help ensure we can continue providing lifesaving treatment to all the cats who depend on us.

💙 Our donation link can be found in the BIO at the top of our page. If you're able to contribute, please consider making a donation and sharing this post to help us reach more people.⬆️

Please keep Cypress in your thoughts tonight as she fights to breathe easier. We will share updates as we learn more.

Thank you for always showing up for the cats when they need you most. Your support allows us to say "yes" when emergencies happen, and tonight Cypress needs all the help she can get.
