Some adoption stories just really get us 🥹🖤
Congratulations to our precious 1️⃣5️⃣ year old rescue kitty Doodle! He hit the jackpot with Abigail and Ryan 🥰
Doodle has lived quite a life, defying all kinds of trials and tribulations. We often wish he could talk and tell us his whole story. He came to us back in December when we found him where we were performing TNR services. A neighbor reached out to us and told us he used to be an elderly gentleman's pet, but once that man died, Doodle was left to fend for himself amonst the surrounding feral kitties.
Upon intake Doodle was in very rough shape, and we were uncertain his prognosis. He had a staph infection on his back, major tummy troubles, and was incredibly frail. He only weighed 4lbs. Later, x-rays revealed multiple incorrectly healed fractures. With Doodle's age, surgery was not an option.
So, over the past 9 months we have had him on joint supplements and arthritis injections. That, along with nutrition and love, and Doodle flourished into a beautiful 9 lb house panther! 🐈⬛️
Doodle soon became 15 years young and would chase laser pointers like a kitten! And, even climb to the tallest peaks of the cat trees!
Abigail and Ryan adopted 2 kittens from us last fall 🧡 They were perusing our website and came across Doodle... it was not in their plan to adopt another kitty. But, when they saw Doodle's story and his age, they felt compelled! 🥹
We are so incredibly grateful for their compassion for a senior rescue pet. Senior's are often overlooked even though they still have so much love to give.
We might not know all of Doodle's past, but we do know for certain that his present and future will be full of nothing but comfort, love, and family 🖤
For all the people who have told us "that cat will never get adopted" or "only kittens find homes". You are mistaken, the right family exists for every single rescue animal 🫶 Compassionate people exist, that have a heart for senior and special needs cats!
