What has your heart?
In Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus speaks to this matter:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.”
The earthly treasures we hold dearly can bring us joy, but they cannot do two essential things; they cannot save us and they cannot come with us when we die.
Consider your true treasure, for it is beyond this world and the physical items we store up.
In 1 Peter 5:4, Peter teaches
“And when the Chief Shepherd (Jesus) appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.”
An earthly crown of gold based on our achievements cannot compare to the unfading crown of glory given to us through Christ.
