page. The Poinciana Garden Club of Fort Myers, a non-profit educational organization, organized on June 13, 1962 and federated on May 11, 1964. We are a 60 year old Fort Myers garden club and members are automatically members of The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. a non-profit educational organization founded in 1924 (has 15,000 members). FFGC is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc, (NGC) with a membership of more than 200,000 and is part of the Deep South Region of NGC. In addition, there are International Affiliates, making NGC the largest garden-related volunteer organization in the world. The Poinciana Garden Club is a member of the Fort Myers-Lee County Garden Council which is made up of 20 clubs, 9 plant societies, two affiliates and has over 1530 members. Members of Poinciana Garden Club have access to the Garden Council activities and programs (floral design classes, shows, landscaping classes and other educational programs). The Garden Council meets five times a year and includes educational programs. Membership in the Poinciana Garden Club of Fort Myers is open to all regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity or religious affiliation. Membership provides an opportunity to learn: Growing plants suitable for our locale, floral design, conservation methods and much more. When not on field trips, our meetings are held at the Fort Myers Lee County Garden Council Headquarters (or we schedule field trips off site).
