The Entire Board is Guilty !
Excessive drunkenness can be grounds for dismissal of a Moose Lodge Administrator.
* Employee Handbook: Moose International's Employee Handbook states that employees who violate policy or safety standards may face disciplinary action up to and including termination.
* Social Quarters Rules: Moose International's Social Quarters Rules and Regulations explicitly prohibit intoxication on lodge property or during Moose-sponsored activities.
* Administrator Responsibilities:Lodge Administrators are responsible for ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, including maintaining decorum in the social quarters.
* Protecting the Lodge: The document "Protecting Your Lodge From Sexual Harassment Liability: Best Practices" published by Moose International emphasizes that boards must take immediate action when notified of violations and disciplinary action is warranted, suggesting a "zero tolerance" approach to certain types of misconduct.
While the "Social Quarters Rules" document primarily addresses member conduct, it also explicitly states that the Board of Officers and authorized employees are responsible for enforcing these rules and that an Administrator or Social Quarters Manager is responsible for carrying out the formal decisions of the board in this area.
Disciplinary process
The disciplinary process outlined in the General Laws includes the ability to remove, fine, suspend or expel a member or officer for various causes, including neglect of official duties or conduct that brings discredit upon the Order.
Therefore, if a Moose Lodge Administrator engages in excessive drunkenness on lodge property or during lodge activities, this could be considered a violation of the rules, neglect of official duties, or conduct bringing discredit upon the Order, potentially leading to dismissal.
