Fully funded through donors to Lee Health Cancer Institute, the Cancer Support Community offers compassionate social and emotional support for anyone affected by cancer.

Whether living with cancer or supporting someone who is, this program is here to help community members connect, share experiences, and find meaningful resources!

There are a wide range of support groups and wellness programs offered at no cost designed specifically for people living with cancer or those affected by it, including caregivers, family members, and survivors. If you or someone you love is facing cancer, we're here for you.

Recently, a small group of supporters joined us at Lee Health's Gulf Coast Medical Center for a Donor Insider Experience featuring the innovative Edison robotic system. Guests saw this technology in action and heard directly from Dr. Mark Bloomston during an educational presentation on how histotripsy is expanding treatment options for patients with limited choices.

Thanks to philanthropic support, Dr. Bloomston and his team have now performed more than 60 histotripsy procedures using this robotic system. For many of these patients, traditional surgery was not an option. That means 60 people in our community received access to care they may not have had otherwise.

This technology is often used when tumors are in difficult locations, when patients are not candidates for surgery, or when other treatments have not worked. Philanthropy made this innovation possible and continues to help patients throughout their healing journeys.
