To all Managers and Players: Spring 2026
This is to address the "Rabbit Runner" rule being tested during our Spring Season. After one week of games, it appears to be misunderstood and misused. The Rabbit Runner option is to be used "Only" if you are 80 years old or older, or if you have a Dr.’s excuse for an injury or limitation. It's not to be used for slow runners. The league has enough rules to accommodate players at all skill levels.
The Rabbit Runner Rule is used as follows:
Managers must inform the other team of a Rabbit Runner BEFORE the game starts.
Players who request a Rabbit Runner must use the runner for the ENTIRE game.
A Rabbit Runner can only run once per inning.
The Rabbit Runner starts at the inside corner of the backstop, on the 1st base side.
The Rabbit Runner can only run to 1st base. Running past 1st base is an Out.
If the Batter accidentally runs more than 10 feet towards 1st base, the Rabbit Runner is Out.
Thank you for attention to this matter
