Collaboratory Invests $10,000 to Develop Mental Health/Crisis Care Database
Fort Myers, Fla. (May 26, 2026) - Collaboratory, in partnership with the Center for Progress and Excellence (CPE), has launched a crisis prevention data sharing and quality measurement pilot aimed at strengthening the quality, coordination, and effectiveness of crisis mental health services across Southwest Florida.
Collaboratory has invested $10,000 to support the development of a shared data infrastructure designed to improve how crisis care is delivered.
The pilot was established as part of Collaboratory’s Health and Wellness Coalition’s broader strategy to improve access to timely and high-quality behavioral health care. This work directly supports one of the coalition’s key regional priorities: addressing the shortage of mental health providers.
Through this pilot, CPE will implement standardized tracking of core crisis response indicators, which include emergency transport rates and follow-up.
“Our goal is to create a data-driven model that helps crisis providers meet client demand and support a stronger, more effective behavioral health system,” said Maureen Chase, partnership manager for the Health and Wellness Coalition at Collaboratory. “In the future, this effort will help reduce system strain, improve care continuity, and contribute to long-term progress in addressing the region’s behavioral health workforce shortage by keeping its staff supported and engaged.”
Strengthening crisis response infrastructure supports the existing workforce by reducing preventable escalation and ensuring individuals receive timely intervention and appropriate follow-up care.
CPE is a community-based organization focused on advancing behavioral health outcomes through data-driven solutions, crisis response coordination, and innovative approaches to care delivery.
“At its core, this work reflects the power of collaboration,” said Heather Cross, chief executive officer of CPE. "When we align around shared goals, shared data, and shared responsibility, we can move faster and more effectively to ensure people receive the care they need, when they need it most.”
The project will provide greater visibility into how crisis services operate across the region and where improvements can strengthen coordination and outcomes.
