🎶 Some smiles come with their own soundtrack - and Ashley’s definitely does. 💙

Meet Ashley Byers, BMT, MT-BC, bringing joy, comfort, and a whole lot of heart to young patients at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.

In this music therapy room, an MHHP-donated guitar is more than an instrument. It can become a favorite song, a brave first strum, a silly rhythm game, a calming moment before treatment, or a way for a child to say something that words just can’t quite reach.
That’s the beauty of music therapy.

At Golisano Children’s Hospital, board-certified music therapists use evidence-based music interventions to support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs - helping children with goals like pain management, coping with hospitalization, emotional support, development, and participation in treatment. Music therapists may bring guitars, tambourines, and other instruments right to children in units including the NICU, PICU, hematology/oncology, and general medical/surgical units.

We are so grateful for valued partners like Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, a 101-bed facility that opened in 1994, and for caring professionals like Ashley who help turn donated instruments into real moments of connection, courage, and joy.

We are so grateful to Avow for attending our recent May 2nd Car Show Event and for standing with Music Has Healing Power in our mission to bring hope, comfort, and healing through music.

Avow’s compassionate work in Southwest Florida - providing nonprofit hospice, palliative care, and grief support services for patients and families through life’s most challenging transitions - beautifully aligns with the heart of what we believe: Music Has Healing Power.

🎶 EVENT IS TOMORROW! 🚗🏍️

I’m excited to share that Music Has Healing Power, a 501(c)(3) foundation, will be having a fundraising event for the Music Has Healing Power Car & Bike Show tomorrow, Saturday, May 2, at Rockstar Harley in Fort Myers.

It’s going to be a beautiful day of live music, family fun, amazing cars and motorcycles, great vendors, and community spirit - all coming together to support the healing power of music. 💙

This awesome event is in support of Golisano Children’s Hospital, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Avow Health Care. In conjunction with the good people of Savage 4x4, Red Pyramid Productions, Harley-Davidson, and more who have made this event possible, we will be having an amazing time.

Music Has Healing Power is providing musical instruments, music therapy, mentoring, hope, healing, and love to the children and their families at Golisano Children’s Hospital, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Avow in Fort Myers, FL. We are very proud of our partnership with each of these nonprofit facilities in Fort Myers, who are great, caring health care providers giving healing strength for physical and mental issues. It amazes me to witness the goodness this effective, science-based music therapy brings to infants through seniors. Music truly does have healing power!
