HUGE River Forest Community Rummage Sale!
Hello River Forest Neighbors,
The River Forest Community Rummage Sale is almost here, and it is shaping up to be a HUGE sale. The clubhouse is already full of great items with more arriving every day.

Early Shopping (River Forest Residents & Associate Club Members)
Thursday, March 12
4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Open to the Public (Everyone)
Friday, March 13 – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Saturday, March 14 – 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Donations are still being accepted through Wednesday evening.
If you need help getting items to the clubhouse, contact Gail at 269-317-4212.
We are also still looking for:
Newspapers/packing material
Grocery baggies
Volunteers to help during the sale

The River Forest Community Association is preparing for what we expect to be a substantial and exciting Rummage Sale this March, and we need your help.

We will hold a Volunteer Planning Meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Clubhouse – 13506 Island Road

Many of you have already stepped forward in some capacity, thank you. We are now organizing all tasks and volunteer assignments to ensure the sale runs smoothly and efficiently.

This meeting will cover:

🔹 Donation Intake & Sorting

Reviewing incoming items
Discarding damaged/unsellable items
Sorting and organizing into plastic totes
Wrapping glassware
Keeping clubhouse perimeter clear
🔹 Pricing & Specialty Items

Pricing moderately for quick turnover
Identifying antiques or specialty items
Separating jewelry/silver for review and pricing
🔹 Storage & Display

Organizing Room “A.”
Displaying larger items in the designated west-end area only
Ensuring nothing is stored outside the perimeter or under the gazebo
🔹 Advertising & Outreach

Facebook Marketplace
Nextdoor
Yard Sale Groups
Craigslist
Community signage
🔹 Sale Day Operations (March 13–14)

Setup and staging
Cash table & sales processing (cash only)
Floor assistance
Security/monitoring

Whether you can help with lifting, organizing, pricing, advertising, cashiering, or simply checking in on donations periodically, any help is welcome and appreciated.

This sale has the potential to be one of our largest community efforts of the year.

We are pleased to invite you to another Community Happy Hour and Trivia Night on Friday, the 20th, at 5:30 PM at the RiFCA Clubhouse.

These evenings have become a wonderful way to relax, laugh together, and enjoy the company of neighbors in a casual Florida setting.

What to Expect:

• BYOB – Bring your beverage of choice
• Trivia Night – Friendly, light-hearted competition
• Teams of 2–4 – Form a team ahead of time or join one when you arrive
• Appetizer Challenge – Please bring an appetizer that begins with either the first or last letter of your name

For example:
If your name is Jane Smith, you might bring something beginning with J or S.

Please bring a small place card listing only the name of your appetizer to display with your dish. This makes it easier for everyone to enjoy and identify the contributions.

No RSVP is required. Both members and non-members are welcome. Come as you are and enjoy a relaxed evening of good food, friendly trivia, and community spirit.
