Lee County Bird Patrol Bird Patrol is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of birds and the education of the public in this regard.

Monthly surveys throughout the year are conducted on Conservation 2020 preserves, at Lakes Regional and other county parks to gather important scientific data about bird abundance and distribution which in turn reveals the extent of biodiversity of the land. That information is then used by the County in making decisions about the future plans for these properties.

Preserve Advisory - The boardwalk at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve will close temporarily for routine maintenance. During this time, the Interpretive Center will remain open and parking fees will apply.

• Closed - Monday, Aug. 31 - Friday, Sept. 4
• Open - Saturday, Sept. 5 - Monday, Sept. 7
• Closed - Tuesday, Sept. 8 - Monday, Sept 14.
