It helps us expand mentoring, education, and empowerment programs for minority youth across Southwest Florida, from financial literacy and entrepreneurship workshops through Economic Empowerment to leadership development through Bridge Builders Leadership Academy and opportunities like the Youth Pitch Competition.

More than a legacy, HBCUs are a leadership engine.

Since the 19th century, Historically Black Colleges and Universities have expanded access to higher education and helped shape generations of leaders in the African American community. HBCUs have produced more than 50% of Black teachers, 40% of Black engineers, 60% of Black physicians, and 27% of African American STEM graduates.

We honor this legacy. We celebrate the impact of institutions that have helped shape leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Vice President Kamala Harris, and Thurgood Marshall. Take a moment to reflect on the HBCU legacy that continues to move our community forward.
