A new opioid threat is emerging—and people may not know they’re taking it.

Cychlorphine is a powerful synthetic opioid detected in the unregulated drug supply, including counterfeit prescription pills and mixtures with other drugs. It can dangerously slow or stop breathing, and standard fentanyl test strips may not detect it. A negative fentanyl test does not mean a substance is safe.

🌹 Know the warning signs: someone cannot wake up, has slow or stopped breathing, or has blue or gray lips.
🌹 If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately and give Narcan (naloxone). Repeat doses may be needed. Support breathing and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.
🌹 Carry Narcan, learn how to use it, and share this information with someone you love.
