On Saturday, August 29th, 2020 (2:00PM ET), the African Network of SW Florida will be hosting an international zoom conference, not only to celebrate the 19th Amendment that granted the right of women to vote in elections but also to highlight the struggle for gender equality. We have put together an amazing panel moderated by Attorney Kathy Dupuy-Bruno, one of our members and President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Fort Myers Chapter. It is hosted by Yvonne Roberts from Sierra Leone. She is the Vice-President of the African Network of SW Florida.

The panel members include:
1. Eunice Menja (Oklahoma), President of Kenyan-American Sisters' Powerhouse
2. Paramount Chief Theresa Kachindamoto of Malawi who has been instrumental in abolishing some oppressive cultural practices like forced marriages of adolescent girls
3. Kathy Mayo(Fort Myers, Florida) of the National Organization for Women (NOW)
4. Prof. Ibipo Johnston-Anumonwo(New York) from Nigeria who teaches Geography in SUNY Cortland, New York.
5. Prof. Jerono Jerono P Rotich (Raleigh, North Carolina) the Kinesiology Department chair of North Carolina Central University. She is also the President of Kenya Scholars and Studies Association (KESSA) and Founder/ President of Kenya Students in Diaspora advisory group.
