🎓 Honoring the Future & Celebrating Community 🦐

Tonight, the Fort Myers Beach Lions Club proudly hosted our Annual Scholarship Recipient Dinner at Island Pancake House — a heartwarming evening dedicated to recognizing outstanding local students awarded scholarships to support their educational journeys.

These scholarships are made possible thanks to the success of our annual Shrimp Festival and the generous support of our event sponsors and partners. Your contributions directly fuel this effort, and tonight we saw the real impact of your generosity.

The evening opened with fellowship, a welcome from President Drew Yelle, and the signature Lions Roar, followed by a delicious dinner catered by Island Pancake House. Darby Doerzbacher led the presentation of our Scholarship Awards, offering guests the chance to meet the inspiring students their support uplifts. We also recognized the sponsors who stand beside us throughout the year, making it all possible.

Thanks to the generosity of the Fort Myers Beach Community, The Fort Myers Beach Lions Foundation is now accepting applications for their 2023 "WE SERVE" Scholarships. Cash awards for college or vocational training are given to local candidates who demonstrate ability, need and a solid record of community service. Come support the beach Lions as we work to support the youth and local business community! This weekend multiple restaurants will partake in a shrimp crawl where portions of the proceeds will be donated to the scholarship fund for area students. All restaurants participating will be selling dishes with shrimp from our local fleet.

And, LIVE MUSIC at Moss Marina, Fort Myers Beach on Sunday from 5PM-8PM! 🦐🎶🎸

🦐❤️📡👅 The Fort Myers Beach LIONS Club is working hard to support our local community of those in need and will be participating in a shrimp crawl this weekend, March 11th & 12th. This will pay tribute to what would have been the 65th Fort Myers Beach Lions Club Shrimp Festival!

Last night we welcomed Jennifer Rusk with the Marine Resource Task Force and Dan Allers and wife representing Margaritaville. Lion Diane, the chairman for our Fort Myers Beach Lions Club Shrimp Festival parade, presented their awards for placing in this years competition. 🏆 🦐 🦁 🏝

Congratulations to all the winners! Make sure to visit our festival website for updates and announcements throughout the year! And, join us at our general club meetings held monthly on the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:30PM in the Parrish hall at St. Raphael’s on the beach!

We recently received a very generous donation from our friends Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Powerboat Races that resulted from their incredible efforts at the 2021 Poker Run silent auction. This group has brought another major revenue-generating event to our area that will help individuals and businesses grow. Thank you for your hard work and for selecting our foundation as one of the beneficiaries! These funds will allow us to increase our efforts to benefit those ! 🚤⚓️🦁
