Today, September 28th, marks the 4th anniversary of Hurricane Ian. It was one of the worst times but days after were some of the best times in our Vfw and our community's history. We lost homes, friends,
but thru that, friendship and bonds were formed that even though we may disagree, those bonds will not be severed. Vfw's from around the state brought in truckloads of supplies and for two months, seven days a week following Ian, volunteers from your Vfw, both Veterans and Auxiliary, were in the parking lot handing out supplies to those in need. The stories that we heard from people that came thru the donation line are some we will never forget. Some made us smile but most made us cry.
This is a perfect example and reminder of what the Vfw does. Simply put it is people helping people. Our Vfw and community may still show the effects of Ian but we are still here..together. Everyone has their own story of what they/you went through so please share if you would like.
I promise every story is worth sharing and will be read. Let us continue the healing and recovery together. God bless you all.
