Association of Albanian Girls and Women - AAGW

Association of Albanian Girls and Women (AAGW) is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by trafficking survivors in Albania in 2003. AAGW helps us restore it.

We empower survivors of gender-based violence to overcome trauma, transition out of shelter care, and reclaim their lives. Our mission is to support survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, and their children, in Albania as they transition out of the shelter and into independent living. We are run by volunteers and our overhead is extreme low, which allows us to support our beneficiar

ies. Since 2003, we have provided financial, emotional, and educational support as well as childcare for Albanian trafficking survivors. A primary aim of AAGW is to help survivors of trafficking reintegrate into Albanian society. We promote this goal by supplementing and supporting job training, job placement, and handicraft production programs. Equally important, since we are an organization run by and for trafficked women, our daily operation also offers important leadership and managerial experience and provides a voice for us in Albanian society.

Today is the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. 🌍

Human trafficking steals freedom, safety, and dignity. Too often, it also steals lives.

Behind every number is a person, a story, and a future that deserves to be protected.

Women and children remain among the most vulnerable. Survivors need more than rescue: they need safety, long-term care, emotional support, and a real path toward recovery and independence. 🕊️

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our survivors of s*x trafficking and domestic violence. Through your support, a portion of the day’s sales will go toward the work we do here at the Association of Albanian Girls and Women, helping empower and restore women who deserve safety, dignity, and opportunity.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was seeing customers write notes of encouragement that will be hand-delivered to survivors in Albania later this month. Small acts of kindness can carry so much hope.
