Sunrise Optimist Club To develop optimism as a philosophy of life in youth.

To aid and encourage the development of youth in the belief that giving of one's self in the service to others will advance the well being of humankind, community life, and the world. Purposes of the Optimist Club

To develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed:

To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs;

To inspire repect for law;


To promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people;

To aid and encourage the delopment of youth in the belief that giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well being of humankind, community life, and the world.

Sunrise Optimist Brain Bowl February 7, 2026. The first 4 photos were taken by an Optimist. Robin Northup from the Fort Morgan Times took the next 15 photos and what great photos. It was a successful Brain Bowl. Schools sending teams were Fort Morgan, Wiggins, Akron, Holyoke, Arickaree and Otis. Team members, coaches, parents, grandparents, siblings, other family members, Optimists and our wonderful volunteers all had fun and did a great job. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners: 3/4 grade division Baker, Wiggins B, Holyoke B.
5/6 grade division Fort Morgan Middle School B, Fort Morgan Middle School A, Wiggins A. A die I’ll thank you to all our sponsors named in another post.

Sunrise Optimist members and community volunteers made a training video for our Brain Bowl. We had fun with lots of laughter. Hollywood may be calling soon. 😁 Thanks to Ron Pflug for organizing, writing the script and his friend Erica Jaffe and her assistant for donating their time and expertise to make the video, which Erica will be editing in time for all Brain Bowl volunteers to access on the internet. (The only photo I had of Ron was his backside, so I nicely didn’t post it.)
