Our team has arrived in the impact zone.

The roads getting here were flooded. Bridges were washed out. Landslides blocked what was left of the route. Our team pushed through, covered in prayer, in what some of the locals say were the worst road conditions they have ever seen.

Now the real work starts. Getting supplies into the hands of families who lost their homes, their roads, and any sense of normal. Standing with the local church and local leaders who were already serving here before we arrived. Staying ready for wherever God moves next.

We don't respond to crisis. We respond to the Lord's call to be present with people who are suffering. That's why our team is here.

This was recorded yesterday. Since then, our team has left Kathmandu and is deep into the journey toward the impact zone.

A landslide and secondary flooding washed out the roads, and helicopters are restricted right now. Our team is running mule teams, motorcycles, and trucks over back roads, about eight hours to reach the hardest hit communities.

They're carrying a truckload of supplies to set up a medical clinic once they arrive. Fuel alone runs about two hundred dollars a vehicle, and that funding is needed now.

Our team has landed in Nepal.

They are already moving into the hardest hit areas today, working alongside locals who know and love this region well. Reports of missing people are coming in, and our team is helping track down answers for families who are waiting to hear if their loved ones are safe.

There is no power in the areas hardest hit. Our team is setting up solar power and off grid communications just to be able to operate and report back.

Getting a team on the ground fast during a disaster is not cheap. Flights booked at the last minute, gear, and equipment all add up quickly, and none of it waits. We go because people cannot wait.

Spokane is scorched, but it hasn't been forgotten.

For weeks our teams have knelt in ash, sifting through what's left of people's lives. Every ring, every photograph, every medal we hand back is a sermon without a single word: you matter, and God sees exactly where you are.

That's what we believe at the core of everything we do. He takes what fire destroys and turns it into something beautiful. Every time. Every place we're sent.

Our team leaves for Kathmandu tomorrow.

Two days ago a flood tore through the Bhote Koshi River near the Tibetan border and hit hard. Since then we've been in contact with people on the ground, listening before we act, trying to understand what's actually needed before we show up assuming we already know.

We feel led to go. So we're going.

The team will meet our contacts in Kathmandu, then head into Bagmati and Gandaki to work alongside YWAM and the Nepal Christian Society. Their job right now is logistics and getting an honest read on the immediate needs, straight from the people who are actually there.

Pray with us: for safe travel the whole way, for helicopter access into the places the roads can't reach, for those roads to actually clear, and for the funding to cover this trip.
