During the May 2026 Ebola outbreak in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo, MedSend-supported surgeon Dr. Jacques Ebhele continues serving patients in the middle of crisis.

“This is my country, my town, and my people catching the disease and dying including nurses and doctors.”

Jacques is part of MedSend’s Launch Project, which supports national physicians stepping into long-term missionary service in difficult regions across Africa and Asia.

After years of surgical leadership across Africa, Jacques returned home to the DRC to found Christian Surgical Network and build Mercy Surgical Polyclinic in Bunia.

Even during the outbreak, he remains committed to compassionate care and Gospel witness:

“We will work diligently, making sure that we represent the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to the forgotten.”

Please join us in fervently praying for protection, wisdom, and a medical breakthrough in the ongoing emergency Ebola response in the DRC, Uganda, South Sudan and throughout the surrounding regions.

Dr. Sheryl Uyeda has served in Papua New Guinea for eight years.

She has performed countless surgeries, delivered difficult news to families, and worked in a hospital where there is no ICU and limited backup when complications arise.

“I have learned to release patients into His hands… in spite of our best efforts, I can’t ‘save’ anyone. Only He has the power to heal.”

This is the posture of long-term medical missions; skilled hands, steady presence, and trust when outcomes are beyond human control.

MedSend supports Dr. Uyeda so she can remain at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital, continuing to care for patients who would otherwise have limited access to surgical care.

If you’re grateful for doctors willing to serve in places like this, consider supporting the work of global healthcare workers like Dr. Uyeda today and help us fully fund our budget before June 30.

We have been deeply encouraged by all that God has done this year through healthcare missions around the world, and are grateful for the many lives touched through this ministry.

None of this would be possible without the faithful support of our donors and the dedication of those called to serve.

As we near the end of the fiscal year, we still need to raise $500,000 to finish strong. It is essential to our ability to mobilize quickly and continue caring for those God is calling us to serve.

We hope you will prayerfully consider joining us with a fiscal-year-end gift. Together, we can continue bringing the hope of Christ through healthcare missions.

Grace didn’t leave her country.

But everything changed.

She spent a month training in a region of Kenya that felt completely different from home.

Different beliefs.

Different barriers to care.

Different realities for patients.

Cross-cultural ministry within the same country. This is where MedSend’s National Scholars are stepping in.

She grew up as the patient.

Now she’s the doctor.

“When a patient walks into your room… you realize they need Jesus.”

Grace is training in Kenya to serve in places where healthcare and low resources collide every day.

Rainy season hasn’t slowed what God is doing through Dr. Geoffrey Moses and his team in Sierra Leone. In the 6 months since they launched their 3-week Discipleship Movement Training course, they've seen:

421 people confess faith in Jesus
178 baptized
51 house churches formed

All while medical clinics, community health outreach, and trauma care continue.

In Sierra Leone — where maternal and child health challenges remain urgent — your support of Geoffrey helps bring hope to body and soul.

“To have the support of MedSend… was one of the expressions of the fatherhood of God.”

That’s how Dr. Belyse Arakaza describes the support that made her medical training possible.

Dr. Belyse Arakaza lost both of her parents as a child. Today, she’s a doctor serving others.

“I am serving God today… because you gave.”

Your generosity makes stories like hers possible.
