Memories 🤩 I always say: "pretty things for ugly cancer" and this was one of them.

Last year, Wren was invited to submit artwork as part of a special collaboration between Blood Cancer United, Valvoline, and Hendrick Motor Sports!

We got to attend the public unveiling of the car’s design and then we had the honor of attending the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedyway on October 5th to see Wren’s artwork in action!

Super special and so honored but we never forget WHY we are here and WHY we keep showing up! 🎗️

Still so grateful to everyone who made this possible!!!

New Month, Same Mission! 💪🏻🎗️🦄

As it’s guiding mission, Wren’s Village aims to provide:

WREN’S WALLETS
$250 in gift cards to help with gas, medications, food, some fun, and a lot of hope to ease the unexpected burden that pediatric cancer has on a family, regardless of where they are in their journey.

FUNDING
To support pediatric cancer research. As of 2023, funding for pediatric cancer research totals less than 4% on a national level.

SPARKING AWARENESS TO ACTION
Through outreach, education, & blood drives.

As September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close... I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish, but there is so much left to do. This is just our 1 month a year of awareness and sharing our journey ... but it will never be over for us.

🎗Let me never forget you being wheeled away from me to an operating room at 3 years old so sick, and so little.

🎗Let me never forget the 11th floor at Levine Children's filled with very sick little kids and the hollow faces of other parents.

🎗Let me never forget sobbing silently so many times as you slept in a hospital bed.

🎗Let me never forget how hard you fought or how you always kept smiling.

🎗Never let me forget the ache of feeling you go limp in my arms every time you were sedated for a procedure.

🎗Let me never forget hitting the floor when I left the room where they were going to give your brain radiation — when all I wanted to do was grab you and run.

🎗Never let me forget the smell of chemo on your breath and skin.

🎗Let me never forget the support from those around us.

🎗Let me never forget that each and every day is a blessing because I got to keep you here with me, with us, where you belong.

🎗Let me never forget why we must continue advocating for better research for more efficient and targeted drugs and funding for a childhood cancer cure.

🎗Let me never forget the names and faces of children we lost.

HUGE thank you to Redstone 14 Cinemas for generously donating popcorn for our Go Gold! Day at !

Wren & her friends were able to make almost 200 bags of popcorn to sell tomorrow to benefit Atrium Health Levine Children's hospital in honor of kids fighting (and who have fought) cancer.

Your donations at work!

This is just one example of how your donations support the families of pediatric cancer.

Whenever the Levine Children's Oncology Department has a need, they ask. And, more often than not, we fulfill their need SAME DAY.

Because of your generous donations, we are able to respond quickly and fulfill their needs IMMEDIATELY.

Most people think that insurance covers everything when you have cancer… and while it covers a lot, there are tons of little random things that it doesn’t cover and that hospitals don’t necessarily have on hand to be able to provide… until now.

Just a few things we’ve been able to help provide:

🎒 appropriate sized backpacks for continuous chemotherapy (so they aren’t confined to a bed or a pole)
🩹 shower shields for external central lines
🚿 shower caddies for parents with kids in the ICU with no access to a private shower
🏋🏻‍♀️ exercise equipment for parents in isolation and needing movement
🧘🏻‍♀️ yoga mats, bands, neck massagers and other comfort items

Wren’s Village was founded in honor of Wren and her fight against leukemia at 3yo.

This month, and every month, as it’s guiding mission, Wren’s Village aims:

🎗️ To raise awareness into ACTION
🎗️ To raise FUNDING for pediatric cancer research
🎗️ To raise BLOOD donations
🎗️ To HELP other families like ours battling pediatric cancer with “Wren’s Wallets”. Each wallet contains $250 in gift cards to help with gas, medicine, food and some fun!

What are Wren’s Wallets? 🎗️

Wren’s Wallets are special, small unicorn 🦄 pouches filled with gift cards that are delivered to families at local hospitals who are battling pediatric cancer. Each wallet contains $250 in gift cards to help with gas, medicine, food and some fun!

When you choose to sponsor a wallet, you will be giving directly to families at Levine Children's or you may direct a wallet to a special child you’d like to support (see below).

Interested in donating gift cards for the wallets? We can always use Walmart, Chick-fil-a and gas gift cards!

My why, always. And her why… in her own words. 🎗️

She will always be my WHY and it is never far from my mind how lucky I am to be able to do what we do in her honor, with her by my side.

The alternative, is unthinkable and yet I know, was totally possible. 🦄🎗️
