Please join us in praying for the River Ministry in Peru. We ask God to richly bless the renewed outreach efforts to the Asháninka people, opening hearts and deepening relationships. Pray also that He grants wisdom, protection, and clear guidance to the national missionaries as they boldly step out to share the Gospel with new people groups across the region.

SAM Academy had such an incredible time over this past weekend with its students! From the high energy and excitement of Field Day to the amazing production of the play 'Sherlock' put on by the students, it was a weekend full of joy and teamwork. We are so grateful for these moments of fun and fellowship, and we pray that the Lord continues to move in the hearts of these kids.

Please pray for our retirees, who continue to serve the Lord and their community in various ways.

RuthAnn Moyer and her husband Bob served 35 years in Colombia and 14 in the Home Office. Bob passed away in 2021. Pray for RuthAnn who continues to serve others in her retirement. She is living in a christian retirement home in Telford, PA where she enjoys chauffeuring fellow residents to doctor appointments. She serves in her church by singing in their choir and doing visitation. She also enjoys visits with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. RuthAnn feels very fulfilled and blessed.

Dave and Kay Greiman served in Brazil for 46 years. Dave and Kay Greiman live in Princeton, MN, where they find many ways to serve. Dave has a heart for survivors of tragedies who need adequate housing, and recently traveled with a group of retired men from their church to help build homes for families in Ft Myers, FL. He also mentors men from their church. Kay is active as a ladies' Bible study leader, the coordinator of monthly senior luncheons, and the chairperson for the church's missions council. Pray for Dave and Kay as they continue to use their experience and gifts to serve the Kingdom of God.

Bob and Emagene Owen served 24 years in Peru, then returned to the US to care for her aging parents, as she was an only child. Please pray for Bob Owen as he grieves the passing of his wife Emagene in May. Bob and Emagene were married for just shy of 72 years and served together in Peru for 24 years. Bob is in hospice care.

"Virginia Swartzendruber discovered her love of teaching while helping the teacher in her one-room-schoolhouse with students in the younger grades. She felt called into missions and led to South America while learning Scripture verses at Bible Memory Camp. These events evidence the broad strokes that God painted into Virginia’s being that lead her to ministry with South America Mission as a teacher at the Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center from 1979-2012.

But what about the years since 2012? Where can we see The Artist’s brush strokes in the opportunities he has given Virginia during her retirement years? Virginia has a definite artistic bent, loves painting, and loves piecing quilts. So, she has combined these to paint barn quilts and subsequently to teach classes on barn quilts. Ah, there we see a fine brush stroke being brought into focus! Virginia’s love of reading has her participating in a book club at Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church, as well as working in the church library. The experience she gained through many years as a missionary allows Virginia to share unique and wise contributions with the Church Missions Committee."

Please pray for Doris Thomas, our home office summer intern at South America Mission. Based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Doris is working closely with our home office staff to gain experience in the business aspects of global missions, while our team has the privilege of pouring back into her. This July, she will be going into the mission field in Peru. Please pray for her protection, clear guidance, and total provision in this season of life, and ask that the Lord would teach her a great deal and deeply grow her faith through these experiences.

Please pray for the Joneses and the Wájaro Team as they launch Phase 1 of Casa Wájaro’s coffee program remodel. As the team, volunteers, and construction workers step into this exciting and demanding season, we ask for prayer over their safety, unity, and strength. Pray for God’s provision for the fundraising needed to complete Phases 2 and 3, and for the resources and partnerships required to bring this big vision to fruition. As construction begins, pray that the Lord would give the entire team wisdom, endurance, favor, and clear direction in every decision. May Wájaro's coffee project continue to be a source of transformation, opportunity, and hope for the communities Wájaro accompanies.
