📚 The North Lee Community Foundation (NLCF) is pleased to announce its role in establishing a new endowed scholarship fund in partnership with the Holy Trinity Catholic Schools Educational Foundation.
The Holy Trinity Catholic Schools Educational Field Scholarship is a $100,000 endowed fund created to support graduating Holy Trinity seniors who plan to pursue a degree in education. The scholarship will be awarded annually, with this year’s award expected to be approximately $4,500, based on endowment earnings and fund performance.
"This is an opportunity for a student who wishes to serve in an educational-related profession”, stated Thomas Gendron, Director of Development at the Holy Trinity Catholic Schools Educational Foundation. "We offer scholarship opportunities to several fields, but this is the first time, to my knowledge, that we will help students who wish to go into the real world doing one of God's chosen professions, teaching."
The scholarship was donated by a benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous and was established through the North Lee Community Foundation as part of its mission to support education, community development, and long-term local impact through permanent charitable funds.
"We as a foundation are grateful for the community support of this very important fund dedicated to education”, said NLCF Board President Steve Koellner. “The 25% Iowa Tax Credit is an essential part of the growth of this endowment, and we look forward to working with Holy Trinity Schools into the future."
