More is happening around the Regiment than what we see in ceremonies, formations, and organized competitions.
During Regimental Week, Soldiers at Fort Leonard Wood took on a different kind of challenge: a Norwegian swimming proficiency assessment testing endurance, water survival, and lifesaving skills.
The Military Police connection went beyond the competitors. SFC Jeremy Calvin, an MP now serving as an Army recruiter in Arkansas, made the trip to Fort Leonard Wood to run the assessment. Capt. Nicolas Tures, a Military Police Captains Career Course student, took part and earned the bronze Norwegian Swimming Federation Swimmer Badge.
The article also looks ahead to another Norwegian challenge coming to Fort Leonard Wood, the Norwegian Foot March, with SFC Loretta Streichert from the U.S. Army Military Police School helping support that opportunity.
