Waynesville Tiger Way AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA programs are funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

AmeriCorps VISTA members build capacity in nonprofit organizations and public agencies to help them more effectively generate the commitment of private sector resources, encourage volunteer service at the local level, and empower communities. New students (to the district)

1a. Online enrollment for new students is now open for new students at https://www.waynesville.k12.mo.us/Page/12197

1b. New families who would like in-person assistance with these forms may attend the free help sessions, which will include accessibility to technology, on the following evenings:

a. Monday, July 31: 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Parker Educational Center, 909 U.S. Route 66, Waynesville (next to the middle school)

b. Thursday, Aug. 3: 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Parker Educational Center, 909 U.S. Route 66, Waynesville (next to the middle school)

Returning students, including all who attended Summer School

2a. Please check your email, including your spam and junk folders!

2b. We sent out information to our RETURNING families, today, July 28, 2023. You should have received an email with a link and instructions for completing your students’ annual required forms. The forms include bus sign ups, a technology use agreement, updating your emergency contact info, etc. Please check your inbox, your spam and junk folders for the message from PowerSchool. (Waynesville R-VI has switched to PowerSchool from Tyler SIS.)



2c. If you are a returning family and you did not receive an email with a link and instructions, please contact your child’s school after Aug. 3. School phone numbers are listed at https://www.waynesville.k12.mo.us/Domain/1517



2d. The forms will remain open until the first day of school on Aug. 21.

On May 9, Anneke Kirk completed over 8 years of national service. She began in 2013 as a VISTA Summer Associate, continuing for the next 4 years a an AmeriCorps member, then moved on to serve in the VISTA program as a member for 2 years. She took a two-year break and returned as a VISTA leader the last 2 years. Thank you for your service, Anneke!

The ESports Varsity HALO Team was recognized during the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, for their 3rd place finish in the state in the Missouri Scholastic Esports Federation state championships. The team is coached by WHS teachers Tate Brand and Nicholas Lambert. The varsity HALO team members are: Joe Collier, Jacob Harless, Carl Myers and Mason Rodden.

The WHS Varsity Halo team program is funded in part through grant funding from the Army’s Child, Youth and School Services for the Army Youth Programs in Your Neighborhood (AYPYN) program.
