Armed Services YMCA of Missouri

Armed Services YMCA of Missouri The ASYMCA of Missouri is on a mission to provide support to service members and their families Programs and activities designed for kids and families.

Military and public invited to attend. The Armed Services YMCA of Missouri is located on Fort Leonard Wood. We are a nonprofit 501©(3) charity dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opport

unity to learn, grow and thrive. Our free or low cost programs help strengthen young families as they learn to cope with the unique challenges of military life. No two ASYMCA’s are exactly alike because no two communities are exactly alike. Our programs and facilities are always based on the distinct needs and interests of our community.

We are excited to share that the new floors throughout the ASYMCA Food Pantry areas are finally complete! A huge thank you to Fort Leonard Wood Army Community Service (ACS) for coordinating volunteers and to the RHU for spending the day with us assembling new shelving and helping return supplies to their proper places throughout the pantry’s multiple rooms.

Over the last several months, numerous units and volunteers have stepped up to help us navigate construction, move supplies, reorganize spaces, and ensure services to our military community continued without interruption. We truly could not have done this without the incredible support of our Fort Leonard Wood community.

This pantry is a vital resource for our families. In the last week alone, we assisted more than 52 families experiencing food insecurity. Because of the generosity, teamwork, and servant leadership shown by so many, we are able to continue providing this essential support.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to ACS, the RHU, and every unit and volunteer who has lent a hand throughout this process. Your willingness to serve makes a difference in the lives of our military families every single day.

What a magical evening!

Last night’s Enchanted Evening Father-Daughter Dance was filled with smiles, laughter, dancing, and memories that will last a lifetime. Watching fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and special father figures share such a special night with the young ladies in their lives was truly heartwarming.

We especially enjoyed watching the dads try to keep up with their daughters on the dance floor! While the girls seemed to have endless energy, some of the fathers may be feeling the effects of those dance moves this morning. We also learned an important lesson: when fathers are left unsupervised, children somehow end up flying through the air, being twirled around the dance floor, and creating memories that will be talked about for years to come!

One of our favorite parts of the evening was the smaller, intimate atmosphere that allowed families to slow down, connect, and simply enjoy time together. It created the perfect setting for meaningful conversations, special dances, lots of laughter, and memories that will be treasured long after the evening ended.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. From our volunteers and staff who worked behind the scenes, to our sponsors and partners, AUSA Fort Leonard Wood - Mid MO, Infuze Credit Union, the Brock Family, Earl R. Whaley and Company, the Raines Family, Pablo MC Photography LLC, Armed Forces Bank, DJ Ess Gee, LLC., Celebrate With B LLC, and Vidie’s Catering and everyone who contributed their time, talents, and resources, this evening would not have been possible without each of you.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the families who joined us and allowed us to be a small part of creating these special memories. The joy, laughter, and special moments shared throughout the evening reminded us exactly why these events matter.

Thank you for making the 2026 Enchanted Evening Father-Daughter Dance such a wonderful success. We hope you made memories to cherish for years to come and that everyone recovered from all the dancing, spinning, twirling, and impromptu airborne adventures!

A huge thank you to Jane for choosing the Armed Services YMCA of Missouri as the beneficiary of her Eagle Scout project!

Jane has dedicated countless hours to helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for children in our soon-to-open Children’s Waiting Room. As part of her project, she built beautiful bookshelves, collected books for children to enjoy, and even painted an adorable piece of artwork that will help make the space feel warm and inviting.

We would also like to thank the Scouts of Troop 149 for lending a helping hand with unloading and moving materials for the project. Your teamwork and support helped bring Jane’s vision to life.

We are incredibly grateful for Jane’s hard work, leadership, and commitment to serving others. We can’t wait to see the finished space come together and the positive impact it will have on military children and families for years to come.

We had an amazing time kicking off our Lil’ Cooks 4-Week Program this week! Our young cooks in grades 3–5 rolled up their sleeves, put on their aprons, and started learning how to create simple, delicious recipes while building confidence and kitchen skills along the way.

The smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm in the room made it clear that this program is going to be a wonderful experience for everyone involved. We can’t wait to see what our Lil’ Cooks create over the next few weeks!

A special thank you to Vidies Catering for sponsoring and partnering with the ASYMCA of Missouri to make this program possible. Community partnerships like yours help us provide meaningful opportunities that educate, inspire, and create lasting memories for our military children and families.

We are already looking forward to next week’s class! Did you miss sign up for this session? Don’t worry, we will be posting sign ups soon for the next series which will start in July!
