Pride Month is celebrated each year in June in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, where trans and q***r people fought back against police harassment of community members in New York City.

It’s a time to recognize and celebrate the lives, stories, challenges, and triumphs held by two spirit, le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, intersex, and asexual communities across the globe. This is an important time where we can collectively support and uplift the 2SLGBTQIA+ community through our words and actions.

AFGE has chartered our official 2SLGBTQIA+ constituency group, AFGE PRIDE, to support members of this community and educate all AFGE members on the workplace and safety issues faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ workers.

As the rights of our siblings are under attack across our nation at every level of government, now more than ever, we must use our collective power to protect and advance equity and justice for our 2SLGBTQIA+ siblings.

Join AFGE’s Women and Fair Practices Department this Pride Month as we celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and culture and fight to advance their rights.

Now more than ever, we must use our collective power to protect and advance equity and justice for our LGBTQIA+ siblings at work, in our union, and in the community. Join WFP this Pride Month as we celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and culture and fight to advance LGBTQIA+ rights.

Join AFGE Pride for this month-long celebration filled with community, advocacy, and education. AFGE Pride has launched a survey that is open to all membership. Focusing on workplace environment for those that identify as LGBTQIA+ or an ally.

We want to know what you are experiencing in the workplace!

AFGE Pride, part of Women and Fair Practices Department’s network, want to be better advocates for you! We have created a survey to learn more about the union and workplace experiences of our LGBTQIA+ members.

Please support AFGE Pride by participating in this survey: Click here to share your workplace experiences!

The survey above will ask about workplace safety, culture, programs, and support systems. Responses will be used to create future programs, training, and outreach strategies. Please note that responses will not be individually shared with anyone outside of AFGE Pride or the Women and Fair Practices program team. We strive to create a safe space for all our members and want to ensure that you and your identity are safe at the Women and Fair Practices Department. Survey responses are due by 5 PM EST June 30.
