Today, we pray for our teens and for the people God has placed in their lives to love, guide and encourage them.

Sometimes life skills look as simple as making pancakes. And these everyday moments matter.

Learning to cook is a lesson in following directions, measuring, calculating and becoming more independent... skills our teens will carry with them long after they leave our program.

It also teaches them how to work together and communicate effectively, which are important skills when you have a roommate and you're on your own.

It may just look like breakfast…but it’s another small step toward self-sufficiency, confidence, and real life.

And yes… pancakes make learning a little more fun. 😊

Thankful Thursday ❤️

Today, we’re thankful for our teens.

Some have faced difficult or unstable situations and circumstances no teenager should have to navigate.

Yet they keep going..one day at a time, one step at a time.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to walk alongside them and witness their strength, resilience and growth. Being even a small part of their journey is something we never take for granted.

Many teens in foster care have already experienced more instability, loss and trauma than most of us can imagine.

And as they get closer to adulthood, they’re expected to prepare for life on their own…often without the support system many of us take for granted.

That’s where we come in.

At BiG Children’s Foundation, we want our teens to know they have people in their corner…helping them build confidence, learn life skills, complete their education, prepare for their future and, most importantly, reminding them that they matter. ❤️
