A discussion forum and support group for atheists and agnostics where you will be warmly welcomed, encouraged, challenged and supported. We want to encourage a community where all are welcome to share ideas and meet other like-minded people. Fun and freedom are a priority and the only rule is to avoid personal insults and attacks. Lively debate is encouraged. We exist to support the ideal of personal freedom and as a resource for freethinkers everywhere. Many of us once believed in God. But once we examined the facts, we felt differently.

Help me understand why people think this is okay to force on women? A major 2020 GAMAAN survey of Iranian adults found that 15.1% supported making hijab legally mandatory in public, while 72.4% opposed compulsory hijab and 12.5% were neutral. So, it's by-and-large NOT them doing it voluntarily. I simply empathize with the woman who don't want to dress like this but are forced to, regardless of their religion. Catholic nuns dress in funny looking clothing voluntarily. But in Islam, they don't have a choice.
