Look at our staff! They decided they needed uniforms - I think Alejandra with the glasses was the moving force behind the idea. They took the Children Create History logo and had t-shirts made at their own expense. They plan to wear them 4 days a week and have a casual Friday tradition. This is a clear expression of their pride in their jobs and the school. They are such a joyful, creative crew! They spread blessings to our students every day!

Father Alan Gates from the Diocese of California came to Antigua to improve his Spanish language skills and made time to visit us at Niños Creadores de Historia. He’s a 4th grade teacher in California so he appreciated the hard work our students have invested to earn their success in reading. He intended to students read and had lunch with us. Thank you for your visit Father Alan!

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

People sometimes ask why our school focuses on first and second graders.

The answer is simple. Children who learn to read early are much more likely to stay in school.

Children who stay in school are much more likely to graduate. And graduation changes everything.

Unpacking Box 16! Many hands make for light work! The students get excited about the new books. The books aren’t just a story, they’re a glimpse of the world outside their little village and of opportunity and growth. Our students joyfully develop a love of reading and learning. Lucy the dog is always ready to congratulate them on a job well done!

JUST ONE CHILD OF MANY

This young girl, proudly holding her baby sister, was one of the students we met during our very first mission trip to Children Create History School in 2020.

We don't know where life has taken her since this picture was made, but we hope she continues to learn, to grow, and to dream big.

Every child has a story. Every story matters. ❤️

BOOK BOX #16 HAS ARRIVED

Yesterday, the box safely arrived at Children Create History School, bringing another shipment of books and classroom supplies that will soon be in the hands of eager young learners.

This box was packed by volunteers at All Saints Episcopal Church and weighed 152 pounds.

Inside were:
188- Children's books
110- Early-reader paper books
300+Pencils
100+Coloring markers and colored pencils
41- Composition notebooks
20- Packs of writing paper
20- Packs of construction paper and craft supplies
93- Pieces of children's clothing

Candy and fruit snacks for the students, and many other educational supplies that will be put to good use throughout the school year.

To everyone who donated books, supplies, time, and financial support to make this shipment possible: thank you. Your generosity is changing lives one box at a time.
