Building Little Libraries, Building Brighter Futures 📚💙

What an incredible day of community, service, and literacy! The Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes (KCLL), in partnership with the City of Lauderdale Lakes City of Lauderdale Lakes and Christian Life Center CLC Outreach, came together to build and paint 7 Free Little Libraries that will be placed in local parks to give students and community members access to free books. 📖🌳

Literacy opens doors, builds confidence, and creates opportunities—and we believe every child and every person should have access to books. ❤️

We were especially excited to see people of all ages roll up their sleeves and get involved, including elementary, middle, and high school students. What a wonderful example of young people giving back and helping make a difference in their own community!

A special thank-you to the Kiwanis Club of Kendall South Dade for joining us and lending a helping hand. Together, we are proving that when organizations and communities work together, we can build something that lasts. 🙌

💙💛 KCLL — DISTINGUISHED & PROUD! 💛💙

This week, we celebrated our 2024–2025 Distinguished Club achievement and proudly recognized Distinguished President Sophia Collins and Distinguished Secretary Althea Johnson for their leadership in helping guide KCLL to another Distinguished year.

We also received the results of our Annual Club Member Survey. While there are areas for improvement, the overall results showed that our members are having a positive club experience and strongly believe that KCLL is making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and the communities we serve.

Thank you to every member who participated—your voice matters and will help us keep growing, improving, and serving!

🎒📚 BACK-TO-SCHOOL PREPARATION IN ACTION! ✏️🖍️

Last Tuesday, following our weekly club meeting, members of the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes stayed behind to sort, organize, and pack back-to-school supplies for students within our Service Leadership Program (SLP) schools.

Thanks to the helping hands of our dedicated members, supplies were prepared for delivery to our sponsored SLP schools, helping to ensure that our students are equipped and ready for a successful new school year.

This project is another reflection of our commitment to supporting children, strengthening our schools, and serving the communities that depend on us.

A heartfelt thank you to every member who stayed behind to sort, pack, organize, and prepare the supplies for distribution. Your willingness to give your time and serve is what continues to make our projects possible.

As the new school year begins, we wish all our students, teachers, administrators, and families a safe, productive, and successful school year! 🎓📓✨

📚📚🎨 KCLL BUILDING LITERACY IN OUR COMMUNITY! 💙💛

The Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes, in partnership with the City of Lauderdale Lakes and Christian Life Center, recently came together for an inspiring Build & Paint Free Little Library Day, successfully building and painting seven Free Little Libraries to be installed throughout the City of Lauderdale Lakes! 🏠📚

A special thank to Commissioner Easton K Harrison for facilitating this meaningful partnership and for including the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes in such a worthwhile community initiative.

🙏🏽 A very special thank you to Christian Life Center for their generous partnership, for providing most of the materials used to build the Free Little Libraries, and for the many wonderful volunteers who came out and worked alongside us to make this project a success. Your generosity, support, and commitment to our community are sincerely appreciated! ❤️

We also recognize our dedicated YCPO and SLP leadership — Director Miriam White, Director Pauline Douglas DS, and Chair Don Douglas DP — along with the entire team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this project to fruition.

🇯🇲✨ Celebrating Jamaica at 64! ✨🇯🇲

The Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes proudly celebrated Jamaica’s 64th Independence with a beautiful journey through our island’s rich culture, history, and traditions. 💚💛🖤

From stories inspired by the legendary Miss Lou, to fascinating historical artifacts from Island Space Caribbean Museum, and of course, delicious Jamaican food—we celebrated the heart and soul of Jamaica together! 🇯🇲❤️

Here’s to 64 years of independence, resilience, creativity, and pride. Jamaica, One Love! 🇯🇲🌴

🇯🇲 KCLL Celebrates Jamaica’s 64th Independence! 🇯🇲

What an amazing Tuesday night at KCLL! Our meeting was filled with Jamaican pride, culture, music, delicious food, laughter, education, and wonderful fellowship as members and guests came decked out in their Jamaican colors. 💚💛🖤

A highlight of the evening was our lively Jamaican Parade, with prizes awarded for some outstanding displays of Jamaican spirit! Our cultural table also showcased Jamaica’s rich heritage and added a special educational touch to the celebration.

👏 Special thanks to our Administrative Team, led by Chair Jenieve, and everyone who helped make the evening such a memorable success.

Best of all, our guests thoroughly enjoyed the KCLL experience and have pledged to return!
