Attention breeders affected by Lake Alfred Animal Hospital’s recent announcement.

If you have frozen semen currently stored at Lake Alfred Animal Hospital and are looking for a storage option closer to South Florida, Palm Beach K9 Reproduction Mobile Services is able to provide frozen semen storage.

If you’re interested in transferring your semen from Lake Alfred, or if you’re looking to coordinate a shared transport (“hitch a ride”) with others bringing semen to Palm Beach or Broward County, please reach out to Andrea at Palm Beach K9 Reproductive Mobile Services as soon as possible.

With multiple breeders potentially needing transfers, coordinating transportation may help reduce costs and make the process easier for everyone.

Mr. James E. Frederiksen

Remembering James E. Frederiksen
The dog show community mourns the passing of respected AKC All-Breed Judge James E. Frederiksen, whose lifelong dedication to purebred dogs left an enduring mark on the sport.

Jim and his longtime partner, James E. Noe, became involved in the sport of purebred dogs in 1963. Together they bred and exhibited Collies under the renowned Two Jay’s Collies kennel name before later adding Shetland Sheepdogs. Their breeding program produced numerous champions, top-winning dogs, and influential producers whose impact on the Collie breed extended throughout the United States and around the world.

Beyond their success as breeders and exhibitors, Jim and James were active leaders in the sport, including service with the Collie Club of America, where one or both held several offices, including president. As highly respected AKC judges, they spent decades judging across the United States and internationally while mentoring aspiring judges through the East Tennessee Judges Study Group in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jim was admired for his knowledge, fairness, and unwavering commitment to the sport. His influence will continue to be felt through the many breeders, exhibitors, judges, and dogs whose lives he touched.

The Canine Chronicle extends its heartfelt condolences to James E. Noe, their family, friends, and the countless members of the dog community who had the privilege of knowing Jim. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Just a reminder to those who live in Palm Beach County ( and those who come to our events), that the PBCAC&C will be holding a public comments meeting to their proposed changes next Saturday, JULY 11, 10am-12pm. Vista Center Room 47-502300 N Jog Road West Palm Beach. These changes will affect the Hobby Breeder among other things and we will need all the support of the club members.
Most notably, a decrease from 2 to now 1 litter per year and an inspection before renewal.

Remembering Lynn Meyer

The dog show community is heartbroken by the sudden passing of longtime AKC Executive Field Representative, respected breeder, and former professional handler Lynn Meyer.

Lynn dedicated her life to the sport of purebred dogs and was widely admired for her knowledge, professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to exhibitors, breeders, handlers, and judges across the country. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives, both inside and outside the show ring, earning the respect and friendship of generations of dog fanciers.

Her loss will be deeply felt throughout the sport she loved so much.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Michael Allway, her mother, Cindy Meyer, her brother Kent Meyer, and all of Lynn’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
