At Compass Outreach and Education Center (COEC), our mission is to enable every participant to realize their full potential regardless of race, gender, or socio-economic status. COEC was designed with the goal of helping participants to navigate through life via lessons of faith, self-love, education, empowerment, and entrepreneurism, while promoting stronger families and communities. Our programs provide artistic exposure, academic education support, informational opportunities, and even lessons on the fundamentals of gardening.

Learning is not always meant to happen alone. Some of the most valuable experiences come when students work together.

Collaboration helps children practice listening, sharing ideas, solving problems, and learning from different perspectives. These experiences also help build patience, teamwork, and leadership skills.

As students learn how to work with others, they gain skills that will support them throughout school, future careers, and everyday life.

At Compass, we believe collaborative learning helps children grow both academically and socially.

A day of discovery at the library 📚✨

Our Compass students had an amazing time exploring the Broward County Main Library, where learning came to life through books, creativity, and curiosity. From exploring new stories to discovering exciting resources, every moment encouraged our students to ask questions, imagine bigger, and enjoy the joy of learning together.

Experiences like these help children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for reading. We are grateful for opportunities that inspire our students both inside and outside the classroom. 💙

Building, coding, problem-solving, and lots of excitement 🤖✨

Our students had an amazing time during their enrichment experience with Bright and Smart: Engineering Skills for Kids as they built and coded their own robots while practicing teamwork, creativity, sequencing, and basic programming skills.

Watching their focus, confidence, and excitement grow throughout the experience made it even more special. 🚀

Creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning all in one day 🎨✨

Our students explored the history of cyanotype photography and brought it to life by creating their own prints using objects and stencils. They even took home an extra sheet to keep the creativity going on a sunny day

The fun didn’t stop there. Students also proudly presented their original card games and spent time playing and connecting with friends.

Moments like these are where imagination meets confidence
