provides a safe and welcoming space for the Bear community of South Florida to socialize and engage in fundraising activities to benefit the local LGBTQ community. The Bears of South Florida are a non-profit IRS 501(c)(3) charity which raises funds from the members and donates those funds to local charities. Our program costs are kept to the bare minimum as all Board, volunteers, our generous spon

sors, and members contribute time and materials at no cost to the organization. The social events are a popular way to meet one another while contributing to needy local charities. There are no membership dues as all correspondence is managed by email and website notices.

We packed Eagle Wilton Manors last night for Honey Pot. Spaghetti, stuffed shells, salad, garlic bread, cookies, brownies. Thank you to Jerry, Byron, Jeremy, Tom, and Richard for all their hard work, and to the AmbassaBears who greeted everyone. They chefs started at 5 AM to make sure everyone was fed.

The Honey Pot is our monthly social event, third Wednesday of every month. It's free to come, but feeding a bar full of Bears takes resources. We do this through donations. Want to sponsor the next one? Donate at https://bosfl.org/donate/.

🍝 Wednesday, August 19 • 6–8 PM at Eagle Wilton Manors. Grab a drink, grab a friend, and grab a plate of spaghetti (because, priorities)!

🍝 It's Happy Hour, baby! Come hang with your bear squad and get your Italian on! Richard Leitner's baked goods are the icing on the cake (or should we say, the meatball on the plate?) 🍰.

Full house at Solstice at Wilton last night, and it was the best party of the season.

The volunteers get the first thank you. They set up and ran the whole night in August heat that gave them nothing, so the rest of us could just show up and get in the water.

Peter Parker himself turned up for Bears At The Movies, and he was the most popular guy in the building before the trailers even started.

The Bears of South Florida rented out the entire theater for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, so the whole room was Bears and their admirers. Special thanks to AMC DINE-IN Coral Ridge 10 for hosting us, and to everyone who came out for it. Afterward the group headed over to Rosie's Bar and Grill to keep the night going.

What the club raises goes back out to local LGBTQ+ nonprofits through Grizzly Giving. Sitting in the dark with a few hundred friends is just the fun part.

The CPR manikins showed up in leather harnesses, which is about right for a class held at Eagle Wilton Manors.

The class was for the Eagle's security team, the people working to keep us safe. When something goes wrong in a crowded bar, they get there before anyone else, and now they know what to do with the first few minutes. The Eagle hosts Honey Pot every third Wednesday, so sending something useful back their way made sense.

Our Health and Wellness committee runs these classes. We teach every CPR and BLS class in memory of Jan Carpenter.

Our volunteers were handing out free tattoos at Fur Friday on Friday, July 24, and Hunters Wilton Manors filled up with Bears for the takeover. Thanks to everyone who came out and to the volunteers who worked the tattoo table all night.
