SOARS RESET

SOARS RESET SOARS RESET is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization aimed at deterring youth from a life of incarceration and dropping out of school.

S O A R S RESET, was created to assist disadvantaged and underserved youth, young men and young ladies who need structure and stability in their lives. Our present and future activities are focused on developing young men and women into positive and respectful members of society, by surrounding them with positive role models and teaching them the skills necessary to thrive in adulthood. S O A R S

stands for “Students Overcoming Adversity and Reaching Success.” Everyone makes mistakes but we are committed to youth hitting the “reset” button and correcting mistakes by becoming actively involved in and mastering skills which include:

Participation in neighborhood beautification;
Preparing for and achieving their High School Diploma or GED;
Literacy and comprehension assessments;
Mentoring;
Introduction into vocational training;
Employability skills (resume writing and mock interviews);
Life and independent living adaptation;
Financial literacy and banking classes;
Gang violence and prevention (in conjunction with Broward Sheriff’s Office);
Domestic violence and prevention;
Anti-bullying and
Embellishing on morals and values. We anticipate presenting speakers and role models from all walks of life to encourage positive decision making techniques; how to become and stay gainfully employed with outstanding work ethics and sound advice about entrepreneurship. Once learned, these skills will not only help them develop into successful adults but will also be with them throughout the rest of their lives. Our short term goal includes vocational training and employment opportunities through a network of local businesses entities. Long term goals for S O A R S RESET, INC. include transitional housing for young men and women who are released from incarceration and give them a second chance to make a profound difference in their lives and thwart recidivism. As you can see from our extensive list of programs, we are serious about the future of our youth and our commitment to ensure that they have a level playing field as it relates to growing up, becoming responsible adults and living life with as less chaos as possible.

E.J died on American soil at the hands of the Alabama Police department. Let us remember those who fought and died overseas, and those who died here in America. Soldiers like EJ commit to fight for our country, this fight of social justice equality is real.
