We are so excited that Peter Berger, the Chair Elect of our Local Leadership Board and the Chair of our Fight For Air Climb Miami, is returning to Washington, D.C. to serve as a patient advocate on Respiratory Advocacy Day! Peter and other advocates from around the country are meeting with members of Congress to push for policies and investments that support people living with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory diseases.
Today is Respiratory Advocacy Day! Lung Health Champions from across the country are on Capitol Hill sharing their stories and calling on Congress to:
✅ Co-sponsor the Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform (SOAR) Act to improve access to supplemental oxygen in Medicare
✅ Support $11.6B for the CDC to improve our nation’s lung health, including robust funding for the National Asthma Control Program, the Office on Smoking and Health and the National Immunization Program
