Deetra was a dedicated leader and a passionate advocate who devoted more than a decade of service to the Foundation in various capacities. During her tenure as Board Chair, her steadfast commitment left a lasting legacy within our organization, the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the broader Broward County community. ❤️

She touched many lives, and her tireless advocacy remains an inspiration to us all. Please keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 🕊️

🌟✨ Living the S.O.U.L. of Broward ✨🌟

Why did I join DELDF? Because this mission hits ‘different’. Seeing how mentorship and access to resources can change lives? That’s personal for me. I’ve been on the receiving end of that kind of support, and now, I get to give it back. Full circle moments like this are what it’s all about.

Favorite project? Hands down, our scholarships and youth development programs. 🎓💡 It’s not just about helping students pay for school—it’s about showing them their potential is limitless. Watching someone take that support and run with it? There’s no better feeling.

The best part of this work? Seeing it come full circle. Like when a former scholarship recipient comes back to volunteer. That’s the mission in action. That’s Broward showing up for Broward.

As a board member, my goal is simple: grow our impact. More resources, more programs, more lives changed. Every partnership, every scholarship, every event—it’s a step toward a stronger community.

Challenges? There are plenty: education gaps, economic struggles, limited resources. But at DELDF, we don’t just talk about the issues—we work to solve them. Scholarships, life skills training, financial literacy, community outreach… we’re out here doing the work.

This isn’t just service. This is legacy. This is impact. This is the S.O.U.L. of Broward. ❣️
