🌊 TROPICAL WAVE UPDATE – ATLANTIC OCEAN 🌊

Three tropical waves are currently moving westward across the tropical Atlantic:

🔹 Tropical Wave #13 is located along 22°W, south of 16°N, moving west at 10–15 knots.

🔹 Tropical Wave #12 is located along 34°W, south of 15°N, moving west at 10–15 knots.

🔹 Tropical Wave #11 is located along 46°W, south of 15°N, also moving west at 10–15 knots.

At this time, these waves remain embedded within the deep tropical Atlantic and are producing areas of showers and thunderstorms along the Monsoon Trough and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

📍 Based on current projections, these tropical waves are expected to increase moisture across portions of Trinidad and Tobago and northern South America from Wednesday onward, bringing periods of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

MWN HD will continue to monitor these tropical waves and provide updates on any changes in organization or potential impacts to the Southern Caribbean.

🌀TROPICAL STORM BORIS AND CRISTINA FORMS OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC; TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS ISSUED FOR PARTS OF MEXICO AND HONDURAS/EL SALVADOR COASTS 🌀

Two tropical storms are currently active in the Eastern Pacific, bringing the threat of flooding rains, strong winds, rough seas, and dangerous conditions to parts of Mexico and Central America.

🔴 TROPICAL STORM BORIS
• Maximum winds: 45 mph (75 km/h)
• Expected to make landfall in southern Mexico on Tuesday
• Tropical Storm Warning: Laguna de Chacahua to Tecpan de Galeana, Mexico
• Rainfall: 4–8 inches, isolated totals up to 12 inches
• Primary threat: Life-threatening flooding and mudslides across Guerrero and Oaxaca

🟠 TROPICAL STORM CRISTINA
• Maximum winds: 45 mph (75 km/h)
• Forecast to move near the coasts of Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala through midweek
• Tropical Storm Warning: Puerto Sandino, Nicaragua, to the Guatemala–El Salvador border, including the Pacific coast of Honduras
• Rainfall: 4–8 inches, isolated totals up to 12 inches
• Primary threats: Flooding, mudslides, coastal flooding, and rough seas

⚠️ Residents within warning areas should closely monitor official forecasts and be prepared for rapidly deteriorating weather conditions.

🌧️⚠️ TROPICAL WAVE #10 APPROACHING THE REGION: SHOWERS TO PERSIST THROUGH SUBDAY AFTERNOON

Tropical Wave #10 is expected to move across the southern portion of the Eastern Caribbean and northeastern South America tonight through Sunday afternoon, bringing an increase in cloudiness, scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms.

🌦️ What to Expect:
• Periods of scattered showers, some of which may become heavy at times.
• Isolated thunderstorms capable of producing frequent lightning and brief bursts of intense rainfall.
• Gusty winds in and near heavier showers and thunderstorms.
• Reduced visibility for motorists during heavier rainfall events.

📍 Areas Most Likely to Be Affected:
• Trinidad & Tobago
• Grenada and the southern Windward Islands
• Guyana
• Northeastern Venezuela

⚠️ Potential Impacts:
• Localized street flooding in poor drainage and low-lying areas.
• Brief flash flooding where repeated heavy showers occur.
• Ponding of water on roadways, creating hazardous driving conditions.
• Temporary disruptions to outdoor activities due to lightning and heavy rain.
