Dr. Ana C. Barbosa is the Administrative Director of the Broward County County Board of Rules and Appeals, where she provides strategic leadership in building and fire-code administration, regulatory oversight, and public safety.

Her career includes nearly two decades in economic and workforce development and 24 years of service in the United States Air Force Reserve, from which she retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and served as First Sergeant for nearly 15 years. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership.

Kate C. Goldman is Assistant Vice President, Government and Community Relations for Baptist Health South Florida, where she leads government affairs and community engagement strategies that support organizational growth, expansion, and community integration. With nearly 30 years of experience in government relations, strategic partnerships, business development, and stakeholder engagement, she has built strong relationships with municipal governments, elected officials, business leaders, and community organizations throughout Broward County.

In her role, Kate works closely with local governments, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and community leaders to cultivate partnerships that advance Baptist Health’s mission and strengthen its presence throughout the region. Her collaborative approach has helped align organizational priorities with community needs while supporting expanded access to healthcare services.

Kate is a graduate of Leadership Broward Class ###I and currently serves on the boards of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Broward, and the Broward Days Foundation.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University and has been recognized by numerous organizations for her leadership, community impact, and commitment to Broward County. Kate lives in Oakland Park with her Daughter and Dog, Charlie.

Broward County Academic Leaders Council Sets Direction for Talent and Economic Development

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance convened the inaugural meeting of the Broward County Academic Leaders Council at Nova Southeastern University, bringing together Broward’s education leaders around a shared focus: strengthening the connection between education, employers and the county’s economic development priorities.

Chaired by Nova Southeastern University President and CEO Dr. Harry Moon, the Council established its mission and initial priorities around preparing students for career success, supporting the continued development of Broward’s workforce, retaining talent and responding to the changing needs of employers and key industries.

The discussion centered on how Broward’s colleges, universities and public school system can work more closely with one another and with employers as technology, artificial intelligence and changing business needs reshape the skills required across the economy.

Participating education leaders included Florida Atlantic University President Adam Hasner, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn, Florida International University Vice President for Academic Affairs & Student Success Dr. Bridgette Cram, Kaplan Inc. Chairman and CEO Andy Rosen, and Keiser University Vice Chancellor Belinda Keiser.

The inaugural meeting established a foundation for the work ahead. The Council will continue bringing education and business leaders together around practical opportunities that strengthen Broward’s talent pipeline and support the county’s long-term economic competitiveness

Vivian Krempa is a Talent Acquisition and Higher Education professional with more than 15 years of experience in Leadership, Recruiting, Career Services, Student Services, and Financial Aid. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about connecting people with opportunities and building high-performing teams.
Vivian currently serves as the Global Talent & University Relations Manager at GA Telesis, where she leads the company’s global Talent Acquisition function and University Relations efforts. As the head of Talent Acquisition, she oversees the recruiting team and partners closely with senior leaders and hiring managers across the organization to develop hiring strategies, attract top talent, and support the company’s continued growth. She also leads university partnerships and GA Telesis’ internship program, helping build a strong pipeline of early-career talent and strengthen the company’s presence within universities and the broader community.
Prior to joining GA Telesis, Vivian built an extensive career in Higher Education, holding leadership positions in Student Services, Career Services, and Financial Aid. Her experience has centered around developing teams, improving student and career outcomes, building employer partnerships, and helping individuals achieve their educational and professional goals.
Originally from Cuba, Vivian now calls Fort Lauderdale home, where she lives with her husband, their 16-month-old son, and their dog, Kaiser. Outside of work, she loves traveling, experiencing new places, and learning about different cultures. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and creating new memories with the people closest to her.
