🚨 LIFE-OR-DEATH DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, 10/7 🚨
BROWARD ANIMAL CARE • FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA🚨

Meet Gordon~A2480759
7 Years Old~38 Pounds
Male Boxer Mix
Arrived on 9/22/2026 as a stray💔

This sweet, fragile 7-year-old, 38-pound boy was found on 9/22, trembling behind a tree in a stranger's yard. He was terrified, helpless, and completely alone. Now, he is running out of time in a crowded shelter that cannot provide the long-term care he desperately needs. Gordon has a strict deadline of Wednesday, October 7th.

Gordon is suffering from severe nerve damage leading to paralysis in his right-front leg. Because he has been dragging it to move, he has developed painful ulcerations on his paw. To make matters worse, this poor old man is severely underweight, with his ribs and hip bones clearly visible.

The shelter environment is shattering what is left of his spirit. Gordon is very fearful and continuously trembles. Unfamiliar objects and people trigger his flight instincts, and he is too terrified to even walk outside. He desperately needs a safe haven to heal both his body and his mind.

Gordon needs both medical & behavioral help from a rescue partner🙏

💔 Gordon Needs a Miracle Transfer Partner IMMEDIATELY💔 Please contact:[email protected]

🚨🚨ANOTHER SENIOR, ANOTHER DEATH DATE 10/11 💔~Broward Animal Care Fort Lauderdale, Florida🚨

Meet Constance~A2480310
7 Years Old~44 Pounds
Arrived 9/8/2026 as a stray

This beautiful girl was recently had a mammary biopsy which was diagnosed as cancerous, and while her time may be limited, her capacity to love is endless.
Constance has lost nearly 4 pounds in the 2 weeks since her spay surgery, and we fear that without proper treatment, she will continue to decline while sitting here in the shelter. She has recently developed minor CIRD(URI-Kennel Cough) symptoms, as well.

Constance is a a sweet, friendly wiggle-butt. The shelter is no place for a dog fighting this battle. Constance deserves to spend her remaining days surrounded by soft blankets, tasty treats, and a family who will cherish every single moment with her.

Please give this sweet senior another chance🙏

***Constance must receive commitment by Sunday, 10/11.***🚨🚨🚨

🚨🚨 ANOTHER SENIOR 💔Broward Animal Care, Fort Lauderdale, Florida🚨

Meet Mary~A2480045
10 Years Old ~44 Pounds
Female American Staffordshire Terrier
Arrived 8/29/2026

Mary is a super sweet, affectionate low-rider who has completely captured the hearts of every volunteer and staff member at the shelter.

As a senior, this sweetie pie comes with some extra bits including several skin tags.
This darling girl may have a few external signs of her age—including some skin tags and a possible vascular tumor—but her loving spirit is completely untouched. She also has some masses, one of which was aspirated but has an uncertain prognosis. The vet suspects it may be a vascular tumor. Mary is the absolute definition of a gentle soul, asking for nothing more than a warm couch, gentle affection, and a family to call her own. She is ready to trade her shelter kennel for a quiet retirement home where she can be properly spoiled for the rest of her days.

Given the risk of operating on a senior, especially if it is indeed a vascular tumor, the shelter is simply not equipped to give her the optimal medical she requires.

Let’s get this sweet girl seen! Please SHARE to help Mary find her forever home! 🏡✨

🚨🚨 DEATH DATE 10/20 BROWARD ANIMAL CARE, FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA🚨🚨
**TRANSFER PARTNER ONLY**

Meet Leia~A2479858
3 YearsOld~40 Pounds
Female American Staffordshire Terrier
Arrived 9/12/2026

Leia arrived as a stray. She’s since been adopted and returned twice for not getting along with other dogs. The world outside can be overwhelming for Leia, and she simply cannot handle being around other dogs.

Leia is an intelligent and lively dog. She knows several commands, is housebroken, and loves cuddles and being pet.

Leia would really do well as an only pet as she has shown a tendency to fixate on and chase other animals including lizards and birds. She has also bitten other dogs here at the shelter and while in a home. Leia isn't broken; she just needs a specific environment to thrive.

Leia needs training & behavioral modifications that cannot be provided at the shelter, but she also cannot simply go into any adopter’s home as has been proven. What Leia needs is an experienced and dedicated transfer partner who can take the time needed to work with her on these behaviors so she may eventually be safely placed into a home.

Let's make sure Leia's third time is the charm. Please share her story to help her get a chance at a happy life.

***Leia is only available for transfer. She must receive commitment from an approved partner by Tuesday, 10/20.***

🚨🚨DEATH DATE 10/15 FOR SHELTER STRESS💔

Meet Manny~А2480213
2 Years Old~67 Pounds

Poor Manny was found on an
abandoned property and was brought to the shelter on 9/3.

He's an easily excitable and energetic young dog who wants all the treats and toys he can get! Manny is very intelligent and treat motivated, but he's been struggling massively with the stress of the shelter and has taken to redirecting on his leash toward staff. Given this safety risk, he's been moved into a more fitting space for now, but his handlers are limited, as he tends to bite at and hold onto the leash.

Manny is a big cuddle bug who appreciates belly rubs and b***y scratches. He can become overstimulated rather quickly, but a treat or toy helps him to refocus and settle down. Unfortunately, while he could be worked with in a home setting, he does not have the resources he needs here to work on his behavioral concerns.

***Manny must receive commitment by Thursday, 10/15.***
