New Era Men setting the example and exercising our power.

We vote because men and women bled and died to give us this right. To not vote is to betray their blood. We do not sit out. We show up.

Let us not merely wear the apron. Let us live the principle. Let us lead our houses, our lodges, and our communities to the polls. Let us be the example.

For justice has never come to those who waited. It has only come to those who voted, who marched, who demanded, and who refused to be silent.

One year ago today, I did the most difficult thing I have ever had to do as Worshipful Master.

I laid to rest a good Brother. A faithful Brother. My Senior Warden.

In June, when we learned his departure from this earthly lodge was near, I had to lead our lodge through something we had never experienced before.

We are taught as Masters to lead with our head held high, to suppress feeling and emotion. I chose to do the opposite.

I chose to be human. To be vulnerable. To show my brothers that it was okay to not be okay.

I did not want us to mourn separately. I wanted us to mourn together.

A year later, I still feel it. And I am still grateful for a craft that teaches us that true strength is not in hiding our humanity, but in sharing it.

Since then we have made sure that his spouse isn’t forgotten by the lodge through acts of service and financial support.

Pictures filled with Love, Family, Food, and Brotherhood.

Typically, New Era Lodge No. 69 /G\is on Summer Break from June 21st to August 22nd. But I missed my Brothers so much, I sent out a call... and they CAME.

To have the Craft and our families together under one roof again filled my heart and made me a truly happy and humble Worshipful Master. This is what it is all about. This is the prophecy of our Lodge fulfilled - that distance and season can never break the chain that binds us.

The highlight was honoring our August birthdays, fellowship around the spade table, and that unforgettable homemade mango ice cream.

Love made this house a home yesterday. Thank you, my Brothers.

In 6 years, 22 have been raised. 14 remain.

We didn't just build numbers, we built Brotherhood. The true work isn't measured by how many came through the door, but by how many stayed to build the house.
