Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project (BCABPP)

Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project (BCABPP) An all Breast Cancer Survivor project for awareness, fundraising, inspiration and healing worldwide. Photography, like art, has the power to empower.

Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project:
A Fine Art & Photography Essay of Survivors. An all breast cancer survivor project for awareness, fundraising, inspiration and healing worldwide. One of the main project goals is a coffee table book with 50 survivor images and a glimpse of their stories. Followed by, a goal of getting the portraits shown in hospitals, oncology clinics and surgeons of

fices; while building exposure and support for a national or international gallery tour. To encourage. To create possibilities. To heal wounds. This is a form of art therapy for both the participants and the viewers alike. The project will illustrate cancer’s total lack of any mercy or prejudice regarding who and when it strikes. BCABPP hopes to spotlight survivors of all ages, backgrounds, shapes & sizes during various stages of their process of pre, post or non reconstructive options. All the designs are custom made for each survivor and relate in some way to their character traits, personality, passions, interests or other aspects of their story. All of these images are created in a way that also translates to the larger breast cancer experience. Describing a myriad of moods, emotions, thoughts and fears in common to many survivors. Some themes are light, positive and inspiring while others may be a bit deeper, darker and thought provoking – still others single out a specific issue such as early detection, or genetics. Their human figures tell a story – like the hands of a worker show their history. For more information or to apply as a survivor model email to:

We are a registered 501c and very soon will be fully able to accept tax-deductible donations of support,)

So far 32 brave and incredible women have selflessly stepped forward and been painted for the project. I may be the creator but these SURVIVORS are the project. Everything is a true collaboration of the women the body painter(s) and my work as well. All of it then shared and appreciated by the people it touches. Every link in the chain is important :-)

Very interesting - but I think it can't hurt and I fully believe the body is capable of more than we realize. I also think that mental and emotional state makes a big difference and music in general is good for you so why not :-)

Researchers found that Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 destroyed 20% of cancer cells in lab tests:

Scientists at the Instituto de Biofísica Carlos Chagas Filho, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are exploring whether music could play a role in cancer treatment.

Led by Dr. Márcia Alves Marques Capella, the team exposed both healthy and cancerous cell cultures to different music genres. Remarkably, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 destroyed about 20% of cancer cells in just a few days, while leaving healthy cells unaffected. A similar effect was observed with György Ligeti’s Atmosphères, though Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos showed no measurable impact.

The exact mechanism behind these effects remains unknown, but researchers speculate that rhythm, frequency, or intensity could be key factors. Further experiments, including Brazilian Samba and Funk, are planned to uncover more about this intriguing phenomenon. While the research is in its early stages, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the potential of music as a non-invasive cancer therapy.
