Often we think of orphans as children who live in third world countries, those whose images we see on television or in the newspaper. But they’re not just around the globe, they’re also right here in our own backyard. On any given day in South Florida, there are three to four thousand “temporary orphans” in foster care. Imagine how children must feel when they’re removed from their homes, often wi

th nothing more than the clothes on their back and a garbage bag filled with whatever they were able to quickly pack. These children are created in the image of God and deserve to be treated with dignity and showered with love. So whether it’s a child who is a victim of abuse or neglect, a teenager rejected by his family, or a young girl who is pregnant and alone, from the moment they come into our care, we provide support, encouragement, and direction. When Sarah and Brandon* took Maya* into their home, they demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting reunification and nurturing Maya’s relationship with her biological father.

Through creating time for meaningful interactions between them, as well as providing a guide for Maya’s father - including routines, favorite activities, parenting tips, and letters of encouragement - they showed compassion and intentional support for Maya and her future.

Sarah and Brandon remind us that helping launch a child into a bright future can include walking alongside biological parents supporting, encouraging, and partnering with alongside them on their journey.

June is National Reunification Month!💙

While foster care can sometimes lead to adoption, the primary goal is reunification. This month, we proudly celebrate the parents who worked tirelessly, made meaningful changes, and took courageous steps to rebuild and strengthen their relationships with their children.

We also want to recognize the foster parents who bravely walked alongside biological parents—offering support, compassion, and partnership—to help ensure children could safely return home to their families.

Throughout the month of May, 159 people across the 5 regions 4KIDS serves, took a bold step by completing our foster parent recruitment form.

Each of these families is choosing to take the next step in opening their hearts and homes to children in foster care, offering hope, stability, and love where it’s needed most.

We are so encouraged to witness how God is moving in this community! He is softening hearts, stirring compassion, and calling people to care for the children He loves so dearly.

Every response represents not just a number, but a willingness to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life

Last weekend, 4KIDS had the privilege of hosting tables at several Family Church campuses, where we were able to connect with so many members of the community. Across Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast, Family Church’s welcoming spirit truly made an impact, sparking curiosity and inspiring many individuals and families to learn more about foster care and how they can be part of changing a child’s story.

We have so many amazing who care deeply about finding a Christian home for every child, and this May it was evident how impactful these partnerships are!

Our May Day of Giving was truly amazing, because of YOU! Each person who donated, whether it was $5 or $5,000, was a part of something transformational for the boys and girls waiting for a place to call home.
