Feel Good Friday: Sugar Ray ❤️🐾

Today’s Feel Good Friday is all about SUGAR RAY, now happily known as MASON! 🥰

His new Mom has been a Doberman owner for over 70 years. She was heartbroken when she unexpectedly lost her beloved Chester, also a DRL alumni, to Wobblers just a few months ago.

She called us every few days, hoping we could help her find another senior Doberman to love. When Sugar Ray came into our rescue, we just knew he would be the perfect match. And when we called her, she didn’t hesitate to come meet him.

It was love at first meet! ❤️

For the past month, Mason and his new Mom have been helping each other heal. He follows her everywhere, loves lounging in his backyard, and is such a gentle gentleman on his walks. 🐾

We are absolutely thrilled that Mason gets to spend his golden years with one of our favorite “Golden Oldies Adopters.” There is nothing sweeter than seeing two hearts find each other when they need it most. ❤️

Happy Tails, Sugar Ray aka Mason! May your golden years be filled with love, happiness, and all the backyard time you can handle! 🐕✨

Some More GOOD News! 🎉💙

We are SO happy for our boy TITAN, who has found his furever home! 🏡❤️

His new Mom and Dad were looking for a new companion and remembered all the love and joy they experienced with the Dobie they rescued years ago. When they came to DRL to meet Titan, he did not disappoint! 🥰

Titan walked right up to his new Mom and Dad with kisses and those adorable stubby-tail wags. He wasn’t about to let them leave without him! 😂❤️

Titan, now lovingly known as FRITZ, is officially living his best life, and we couldn’t be happier for him! His new family tells us he is a total snuggle bunny, is learning to walk beautifully on leash with his trainer, and absolutely LOVES his big backyard. 🐾🌳

Sometimes it takes a little while to find the perfect match, but when it happens, it is so incredibly rewarding and worth the wait. Every dog deserves that chance to shine. ✨

Congratulations, Fritz! We wish you a lifetime of love, cuddles, backyard zoomies, and happiness! ❤️

In Loving Memory of Loki 🖤

Our hearts are absolutely shattered.

You know those Dobermans who steal your heart in a split second? That was Loki. His time with our rescue was far too short, but his heart was full of life, love, and hope.

Today, at Hollywood Animal Hospital, Loki’s testing showed that the mass had doubled in size. A biopsy was no longer a safe option because he could bleed out. Surgical removal of the kidney would have cost $10,000 or more, and even with surgery, his prognosis was only a little over a year.

After talking with his medical team, we made the most heartbreaking decision to let Loki go peacefully. His doctor agreed that this was the kindest choice. Giving him more time would have meant risking the mass rupturing and Loki suffering a catastrophic bleed.

Loki deserved better, and we wish we could have had more time with him. 💔

Run free, sweet boy. You were loved. You mattered. And you will never be forgotten. 🌈🐾

We also want to share that we are still raising funds toward Loki’s medical expenses. Even though we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go, the medical care he received was necessary to give us answers and, most importantly, to make sure he was comfortable and not suffering. As a small rescue, these unexpected medical bills are a tremendous burden.

If you are able to make a donation toward Loki’s medical bill, any amount would mean so much to us and would help us continue caring for the Dobermans who come through our doors. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who supported Loki, prayed for him, donated, shared his story, and stood beside our rescue. Thank you for helping us give him love and dignity when he needed it most.

Please welcome ISUZU to Doberman Rescue League! This stunning girl is just 8 months old (DOB 11/24/25) and has found her way to us because her previous owner, a 78-year-old gentleman, realized he would not be able to handle her as she grew into an adult Doberman.

Isuzu is now looking for a family who can give her the love, guidance, training, and active lifestyle she deserves. She is a sweet, beautiful girl who is ready to start the next chapter of her life. ❤️

💙 MILO & CLEO ARE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FUREVER FOSTER! 💙

Our beautiful senior bonded pair, Milo 8 1/2y & Cleo 10y , are still looking for the family who will give them the forever home they deserve. 🐾❤️

Don’t let their age fool you—these two have plenty of vim, vigor, love, and playful energy! They walk beautifully on leash, are friendly with everyone, and are wonderful with children 10 years and older. They also do well with other dogs their size. 🥰

Legend’s Incredible Transformation ❤️🐾

Legend is here for a visit, and honestly… can you believe this is the same Doberman? 😭❤️

In just a little over a month, this incredible boy has made an amazing transformation. He has healed so much from the scars of life on the streets, and seeing him happy, healthy, and thriving is what rescue is all about. 🐾

But we’re not done yet. Tomorrow, Legend needs additional testing because his ALT liver values are very high. Our veterinary team suspects possible Cushing’s disease, so he will have an ultrasound and specific bloodwork to help us determine what is going on and how we can continue helping him.

The estimated cost for tomorrow’s testing is $813.
