Publicity Over Protection: Who Are These Photo Ops Really For?
Standing in the spotlight with power doesn’t equal real change.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue parades alongside the Attorney General and political royalty, promising to “go after” a backyard breeder from Texas — applause-worthy, if it weren’t a fight against a windmill.
Without fundamental law change and hard reinforcement, cruelty doesn’t stop. It just gets better PR.
Worse: while claiming to fight animal abuse, they cozy up to an administration whose immigration policies are creating mass, government-funded animal cruelty — pets left behind to die, forgotten, abandoned and in some cases even abused by federal agents.
PawsEver Home saw some of the result:
In this case Otto was trapped in his owner’s towed car for an entire month after the owner was detained. No calls. No coordination. No compassion. He barely survived on trash left behind in the car.
Thousands of pets aren’t so lucky. 💔
So forgive us for asking:
How can anyone pledge to crack down on animal cruelty while sitting at the same table with officials who openly admit to killing animals — and oversee policies that do the same by ignorance and neglect?
This isn’t justice.
It’s a publicity stunt.
And jet again animals are paying the ultimate price. 🤬
